Ask him to dinner at a nice place with private rooms and present him/her with a red packet of money (usually 200 min) and some good Moutai wine...

Phil knows his stuff. That is exactly how you do it. Besure to toast him and besure when you do your glass is below his. On the otherside, I've been working in China for a while. The word positivity and a pat on the back is almost null and void. Meetings go on about everything with no real merit to or outcomes to any of them. Learn the way my friend, play the part, realize if they don't say great job, it's a good thing. My wife is Chinese, she has always told me,**** the best way to know if you're doing a good job is if nothing has been said to you, beware of smiles and never talk too much.
Dude, do u think this strategy is gonna work out? Do i need for a better one???
Nick, trust me, take him out to dinner. Nice food, some beer or Chinese wine. This will go a long long long way. Small red envelope, some pocket cash and a thank you for giving me the chance to be a resident here, you've learned alot for the Chinese people, ya da ya da ya da
