Q: How long is the processing of work permit in shenzhen if you transfer from dongguan

I am a foreigner working from another city and found a job in Shenzhen.  I have all the documents including the cancellation of my work permit in my previous job.   A company is helping with the processing of my work permit.  It's been filed for about 3 wks now but until now seems there's no feedback yet from FAB.  I'm wondering if anybody experience the same and would like to ask how long is the processing. Thanks

RP transfer must be completed in 30-days. At your Residence permit cancellation, you get 30-days RP extension, what is given time for your new employer to apply for new Foreign Expert Cert.

You will need Release letter and Cancelation of Foreign Expert Certificate from previous employer, and your new job can transfer your Residence permit.

You'll might need to complete new Medical exam in that time, too.

Mlbm:

My residence permit is still valid and i do have the separation letter from my previous employer and my work permit was also successfully cancelled. All these documents are already in the hands of the foreign affairs bureau in Shenzhen just waiting for their approval so we can work on the work permit.  If my paperworks are all good is there a possibility i will get denied.  If so, what could be the possible reasons? Again thanks

ScotsAlan:

If your last company was licensed to employ you, and your new company is also licensed, then there should be no issue.

But when you say "a company is helping", do you mean your new employer, or a visa company?

The law is pretty straight forward here. The company has to have a license to employ foreigners. If Visa agents get involved, it's not legit. Fesco being an exception of course.

I don't think, you can get denied, because of 3 weeks processing. I'm guessing, if FEB wants to deny your WP (FEC), they would tell about in a week.

1. School applies for new FEC (some 2-3 weeks);

2. New ME;

3. Extension of RP at PSB.

In official China, things always happened 'last minute'. They usually take me to PSB for RP extension on the last day.

Yes FESCO was the one helping me. Thanks guys for your feedback. I'm just a bit worried also i need to get onboard so i can start earning as i already move to Shenzhen. I guess i just need to be patient and wait for FAB's result.
