Here's the thing about voodoo... it only works if both you and your "victim" believe in it. 

As Spider says above, vodoo depends upon common belief.

I am friends with a few witches back in the Celtic homeland.  I have massive respect for their faith, and the one time I asked them for help, they came through. They helped a Chinese couple I am friends with concieve. Straight up true story. I am 100% positive their spells helped a barren Chinese couple have a  healthy baby boy. And I admit, it depends on what day of the week it is how my faith swings. I am a Monday Athiest, a Tuesday agnostic, and most definately a Friday Satinist .

But as I do my weekly transits through faiths, I never come across any that want me to cause harm on others.
