Q: How many Chinese girls become violent when angry?

The constant fighting then making up then fighting then making up with my GF has made me stark raving mad lately.

But things took a new turn last night when she hit me with a glass ashtray and a beer bottle before throwing them across the room to smash into pieces.  All because I refused to let her go and play Majong at 4am after we got home from eating and drinking.

I have never nor will I ever hit a woman but this is something new for me so I just kicked her out of our house and told her not to come back.

Do any of you have experience with bat-shit crazy and sometimes violent Chinese women?

You seriously put up with that shit??? I would have given her the boot a long time ago. The moment they start to act like a child and not an adult, is when you need to start considering, is it worth it...?

Men who don't want to hit girls, I hope that would be most of us, should not put up with girls hitting them. It seems having a temper is the norm for Chinese girls, but this is too much. Drunk or not, technically she could kill you with an ashtray.

If you want to breakup with her tell her you are tense because you are facing financial difficulties, you owe people money, you have some loans back home etc. That will drive her away for sure.

Otherwise, she will always manage to win you back.

Why not just "man up". Tell her that they are through and that she can go to hell.

Went through the same thing, with huge scratch marks down my chest. I made her leave at 1 am. She called a few days later, with nowhere to go (she had been sleeping on her girlfriends bedroom floor). I let her back in, never had a problem after that.

I hate to generalize, so I would say I do know some that are violent when angry.  With my GF, one day while riding the scooter with her on the back seat, she kept on telling me how to drive, and from the back seat will tell me to turn "this way" instead of right or left.  So, I told her I do not have eyes on the back of my head to see where she was pointing, and I was riding a motorcycle 15 years before she was born, so shut up and let me drive observing traffic rules and stopping for red lights.  She got pissed off, and hit my arm with her umbrella.  I stopped the ebike, told her to get off, and saying good bye left her standing on the street.

Within 20 minutes she was calling me on the phone, apologizing and crying. And we met at a coffee shop and had a long chat. I made very clear to her that one, if I am driving the ebike, she sits on the back with her mouth shut, just like I do when she drives it. And second, if she ever hit me again, that will be the end of it. That was two years ago, and so far, no problems. So, I am glad I gave her a second chance.

TedDBayer:

I driven bikes since a  teen, most of them loud. I tell people to tap my shoulder to tell me to turn. My Chinese GF never got that and would point with her left hand only, but her finger was always crooked, so I couldn't tell where she was pointing.

same stuff with the bike........ at first I just told her, no more 2 people on the bike.... then I tried letting her drive with me on the back (that was a huge mistake) ..... now I drive and she has got it, just shut up when I'm driving..........  this isn't just Chinese though, women are "back seat drivers" worldwide I believe.

she also knows not to bother cursing me in general, firstly because I don't understand, and  because I just smile and laugh when she gets goofy............

daughter pouts all quite regularly, still, (23)  but I think that is getting better too.

I had arguements with many Chinese girls, never got hit. i pushed one girl naked out of my apartment, real mental case. I rarely meet Chinese women that listen to me or do things I ask them to.

I would never hit woman, but I would block from being hit, thats more on instinct.

Nessquick:

I do same, blocking to prevent being hit. And it hurt her more than me, of course.

dont put up with that, you either tell her to hit the road or you defend yourself, being hit with an ash tray  is no longer just considered as "being hit by a girl" but a violent act, i dont agree with hitting girls or anything but be aware a lot girls will take advantage of the fact that a lot of guys are too afraid  to defend themselves or to lay a finger on a girl

Similar thing happened to me once. She basically smashed a glass on the floor and screamed like a mental at 2am, waking up the neighbours. I was socked that a woman could act this way. I went downstairs and asked the management to call the cops. They arrived 20 minutes later and made her calm down. I kicked her out of the apartment the next day. Worst relationship I've ever had.

Girls who are capable of acting like that at any moment still are a ticking bomb no matter how long they remain calm.

EDIT: @blah, It doesn't often happen in Chinese couples because before the girl has any thought of becoming angry, the guy has already beaten her and kicked her while she's lying on the floor with bruises.

I have never and will never initiate a physical attack against a woman (let alone a girl), however I will defend myself from such attacks. I have found usually a 'berserk' very loud shout and a rush towards your (female) attacker is enough to prevent actual violence being necessary, however if that were to fail I can envisage a situation where I would use violence against a woman to defend myself. Needless to say ( I profoundly hope ) in such situations that would be the end of any relationship.

As an aside, now in the UK the majority of arrests for drunken violent misconduct on a Friday and Saturday night are against young females not males! Therefore this is becoming a topic of discussion amongst many young men in UK.

Dude, you complain about your girlfriend all the time, then post a month later saying how you're going to marry her. Is this the final straw?

And.... "let"...? What's up with that? Is she your daughter or are you some relic of the 1500s?

She is so immature sometimes I do feel like her father but no...I am 39 and she is 31...not a huge age difference...especially for China.

my second wife in america was chinese and one time i did not give her some money and she ripped her shirt and threaten to call the police that i had committed domestic violence against her.

i called her bluff and said go ahead. i get anger management classes for 24 weeks, you dont get your greencard because i want sign the damn thing, and you have to prove im an abusive husband by showing a long history of it and i will be leaving tonight and you will never see me again. so make the phone call, never had any more trouble with her, signed for her green card, but i never spent a night at home after that. i was only home about 4 days a month anyway, so i worked more and never came home.

her father always hit her mother, so after getting her american passport , her parents came to america, the father was kicked out for hitting the mother, when a neighbor called the police.
i warned the father what would happen but chinese dont listen , they know it all.
he was lucky i was not home at the time. he would have gone back to china in the cargo hold.
the mom was a great cook. miss her sometimes.

I feel reluctant to write an experience I had with a former lover from Hunan. We were together for roughly 1.5 years; I recall her often becoming somewhat physically violent if she couldn't get what she wanted from me. Maybe all of you men here know the Chinese term 'sa jiao,' it essentially means to throw a child's tantrum to get what you want. That girl in particular was expert in its use. Unfortunately for her, I had always been more accustomed to independent women, so this often caused conflict between us.

I usually could tolerate a certain degree of angry violence from the girl. It was a normal occurrence when she became upset. Frankly, it was tolerable because the sex afterwards was rather great. surprise

I am not one of them as well as my friends.I hate violence so much,I will probably speak a bit louder,It takes some time for me to calm down which My husband does not really like sometimes as he wants me to calm down straight away which I can not LOL

I hate being angry as it's easy to get old.so I try my best not to get angry If I can.

Seriously! I have no idea girls could be so violent as you guys said.....Me myself have never acted like any of the cases above! The very time I got pissed of at my ex bf because of his BS, I just grasped my purse and left....most of the time when I got into an argument with him, I would just keep silent and let him say whatever he wanted...of course sometimes he pushed me too far, I'd just walked away....but in my case, my ex wasn't a man who can reason with...not even when he calms down....after trying all the possible communications I could, the best way was break-up...that's what I did.

Most of them. They learn that crap from those stupid TV shows they watch. You did the right thing. If you tolerate that behavior then it'll never stop. Show them you're a real man by taking absolute control of the situation.

Woman's perspective here...just warning you.

First, yes, totally agree. I don't have a girlfriend, but I have noticed in 15 years in China that the women can be very violent. They have tempers, and those tempers show themselves in violent actions all the time.

Second, I don't know if this is really "in their defense" or not, but in their defense I never once had to get physical with anyone when living in the States. But I find men trying to push me around in China all the time. (Chinese men, I should clarify). Taxi drivers wanting more money, hands on guys on the subway or bus, guys slamming into me or through me to get where they want to go. There's no politeness or consideration of any kind: and that's in public with strangers. I'm wondering if there is an element of vicious circle-ness here. All the gentlemen on here, in good western manners, are saying things like they try to "never hit a woman." But if you're a women living in a country where men don't think that way, and it's basically whoever is stronger always wins, wouldn't you learn to react physically out of sheer self defense?

So you are saying...what exactly? Chinese women won't become Chinese if they don't love their values? I'm saying that Chinese women grow up in a society where the strongest/loudest/most violent wins. It's not surprising therefore that they react violently in such situations, and that the more their Western boyfriend doesn't react violently in return, the weaker he appears in their eyes. They don't respect that: they take advantage of it; because that's what they've been taught to do since the moment they were born.

I see this quite often: Middle aged Western man getting "B-slapped" by his 20-something year old girlfriend on a nearly daily basis. Then  he gets angry, goes out, gets drunk and afterwards begs her to forgive him. Then the cycle repeats.

Not all Western/Chinese pairings exhibit this, but it is not all that unusual either.

To be honest, I sometimes feel sorry for these guys. They are so afraid to be alone, or they are so desperate to have a "hot" wife or GF that they put up with stuff that no one, man or woman, should be subject to.

Man, I have NEVER seen a situation such as the one you describe in your post.  I've read about similar scenarios in places like Thailand, but... China?  Are you serious?  Where do you live in China, my friend?  Where does this sort of drama occur?  Middle-aged Western men abused by young local women?  Truly, I have never seen it.

You make it sound like a common occurrence.  A phenomenon, in fact.

Got pictures?

Saw it a few times in Guilin (was there 4 years) and twice heard about it in Beijing by the man involved, though I admit I did not actually see it.  Just heard him complain Chinese girls in general and his girlfriend  in particular "disrespects" him. Later on, we would all be together and his girlfriend would tell us that she forgave  him.  Been living in Beijing for two years.

No photos. Would not want them.< EDIT: The two times in Beijing was by the same man./P>
