Q: How many foreign teachers are there in Beijing?

It seems like every foreigner I meet under age 40 is teaching here!  Then I read an article that there are 40,000 employment "international" agents/recruiters in Beijing so I am wondering,  are all these agents looking for teachers or what?  Are there really that many teachers here?

I only know one teacher in Beijing..

I don't know any because I don't live there and when I visit I just go to all the touristy places and I guess the foreign teachers aren't in the forbidden city every weekend.

 

Liklihood is they've got a life there and know all the local places in their area. Beijing is massive, I think it would be impossible to meet all the foreign teachers there.

 

I've met more international students studying in Beijing than foreign teachers living there.

 

If there is one job going there's probably at least 2 agents advertising it so that answers your question there.
