Q: How many H&Ms are there in Shanghai?

I know of the one on the main shopping street on Nanjing xi lu, but are there any other branches? That one gets too crowded!

Shanghai has quite a few. There's another major one on Huaihai Zhonglu but that gets just as crowded as the Nanjing Xilu one. Other branches can be found on Changning Lu in Jingan District, Sichuan Beilu in Hongkou district, Lujiazui Xilu, Xizang Beilu, Zhengtong Lu, Humin Lu, Dongfang Lu in Pudong New District, Dushi Lu in Minhang District etc.

There's a list with the Chinese addresses on dianping: http://www.dianping.com/search/branch/1/0_2021353/g0

I don't know if it's just me but the one on Huaihai Zhong lu seems HUGE! There are so many floors, although perhaps each floor might be smaller. In any case I found there to be fewer people there. I did go during the week, however. But whenever I go to the one on Nanjing Xi lu it's during the week and it seems far more crowded. It's worth giving it a shot!

Before you judge someone walk a mile in their shoes, that way you're a mile away and you have their shoes!

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
