Q: How many people have any Chinese Guns? I just picked up a T-53 Chinese Army bolt action carbine

Sorry I haven't been posting, been real busy.
I'm back in God's Country (the US) since China shuts down for New Years. The thing I missed most in China (besides my wife and kids) was having guns. I have lots of guns in the US, a concealed carry permit, and an FFL (Federal Firearms License, that allows to me buy guns and have them shipped to my doorstep).
Anyway, when back to the States, I've been buying a gun a day on average, and I am back up over 10,000 rounds of ammo. I just purchased this sweet Chinese bolt action T-53 carbine, 7.62 x 54R caliber, manufactured in april of 1954. The stock is butt-ugly (its been thru hell) but it has these sweet CHi-com markings on it. Anyway I can post a pix on here of it, how do you post pix?. I had to laugh. I can't own it in China, but can get it in the US! Gun Ownership, I guess thats the hallmark of a free society.
I shot it and while it isnt sniper quality ( not a tack driver), it was way more accurate that it looked.
I liked it so much I just may buy another one. Im looking for one of those illusive Norinco SKS also!
Chinese made, none.
In China, none.
In US of A, in my brother's home, 10 of them. Four are rifles, and six are pistols and revolvers. Only revolver is SW 44 Magnum like Dirty Harry, heck of a gun. Then pistols from Spain, Belgium, Russia, and from US a Colt 45, 1911 version, for match competitions, refurbished, and a 32 caliber I usually carry on me all the time. Also have concealed weapon permit, no Fed license, do. Into bow and arrow too.
I guess I got the itch for this sport from my "pappy", he loved to hunt, and taught me to respect firearms and how to use them.
It was recently explained to me that I've set up a little altar to guns in my home, and that I say 20 Our Father's and 10 Hail Marys to them every hour. And five times I day, no matter where I am, I put out a little carpet, face my gun stash and say prayers. And then I put on my medicine man clothes and do a dance to the gun god, so that he may make the guns come down and water the dry, scorched fields. Ha-kumbala.
Anyway my favourite gun is an AK-46, because it is a gun I've heard of.

I have the S&W model 29 - 44 mag too. I have a lotta guns but the Chinese guns really interest me because I work alot in China and the Chinese firearms are so hard to obtain in the US since the ' 93 Clinton ban. How do ya post pix on here?, I will post up some of that old Chinese Army carbine. It has some real cool Chinese markings (that translate to model 1953).

I never heard of that one, but I do have one 47, with a 75 round drum magazine and its a hoot to shoot.
I have a squirt gun that is stamped, "Made in China".

There is one hell of a difference between those that like guns as a hobby, and those who are "fanatics" of guns. Me, I do like than as a hobby, enjoy firing them in a range, enjoy using them for hunting purposes, but I do not have an altar at all, nor I do lay a rug on the floor and pray to them a few times each day. In my Army days I used them as required, and afterwards, in civilian life, I have continued persuing the hobby.
In fact, as it was done to me by my father, I have done with my kids, and they all know what needs to be done and what precautions to take when around firearms. Some may bond with family using what it is customary with them, I bonded with my children when we shared time at the gun range, where their natural curiosity about firearms was satisfied under proper supervision, and also by taking trips on my Beltram almost every week end for fishing purposes. I used those to instill in them that you only shoot to kill game if you will eat it, if not you allow it to continue its life. Same for fishing. And another thing they learned from me was that you only draw if you meant to use it effectively, otherwise it will stay in the holster.
The right to own a firearm may be new to many, and it does not mean at all that you will use it as you see fit. As I have said many times, anything done in excess is harmful to you. Do not fall into stereotypes, please.

I've never touched a gun myself, but I have no particular problem with people owning them.

Then you make this post worshipping guns, not to forget your threat about lethal use of a firearm to avenge your loss of face. At the very least, you show a total lack of respect for the proper usage of firearms. Those of us that have used firearms in our daily jobs, including using against others, and having others use against us, take a far more serious approach to firearms. They are not, as you seem to think, toys that are used in a game. We actually work in such jobs to protect the freedoms of people such as yourself. To maintain order in society Law enforcement authorities around the world, including China, take such attitudes to firearms very seriously. People who make multiple comments like you do are considered a potential threat to society, especially about guns. Of course, you can publicly deny to your heart's content, and believe that you are anonymous when you make these posts. That's fine. Just sit there and wait, and see if anybody comes to take you away.

I'll just quickly insert a quick disagreement with Kchur.... I DO have a particular problem with people owning guns... Like driving and parenting 'rights', I think only particular people should have access to them! Some (most? Many??) just don't have the right make-up for those things....

Traveller, someone called me a redneck because I like Van Halen and I took the piss a bit, and I said, "libruls". I live in China so I have no access to Youtube. Someone coincidentally has the same screen name as me, among the 1.8 billion people in the on the internet. I don't care about guns at all, it is a non-issue for me. I have never been arrested, I've never had any kind of legal trouble, I haven't broken a law or gotten in a fight since 1998 when I was in high school. Now, you need to stop being such a paranoid creep. You think you're taking down some kind of big wheel or something, but you have no idea how futile your senile ramblings are.

Nice to see you back. Wish I was back in the warmth of the US right now. Hopefully next month I will be making my first trip back in almost 6 years. I am looking forward to gorging myself on all the food I have been missing. :)
As far as guns go, I have owned several Chinese weapons. A few Norinco AK's with different stocks & options. Also, a Chinese officers pistol circa 1942. The officers pistol is a nice piece, but the Norinco/China Arms stuff is stamped, mass produced stuff. Not very high quality. I just have several because they were cheap. :)
My favorite collection is WWII M1 rifles. I have ones made by IBM, Singer and Mattel. All of them are very nice rifles.
i have several german lugar pistols, they seemed to fire better in quicksand and duststorms with out cleaning as often, very reliable when i was in africa, suppose i will never part with them.
I would really like to get a Barret M82, very sad that I am in China and from Europe. The other day though QQ a guy was offered me a russian AK 46, I just banned him. In china if you get involved in the heishihui you can buy whatever you want, including chinese firearms.
