I have never been stolen in China. I've been here almost 2 years and I'm still not stolen.
I guess I'm just Lucy too.

Ive never had anything stolen from me but in Suzhou as i was getting onto a bus i felt someones hand trying to open my pocket, turned around and he looked sheepish then walked off...
In Guilin I was with my girlfriend and saw someone trying to open the zip on her rucksack, i looked right at them then they walked off...

While i was working in Guiyang i saw 2 people get robbed, both while waiting for the bus after work...someone would run from behind and snatch something from their hand then run across the road (once it looked like someones phone the other time seemed to be a small amount of money from what the girl said afterwards)

Its funny, Chinese people have a long list of other countries which are considered dangerous. Ive been all over but China is the only country where I've had my pocket picked.

It wasn't anything big. But still frustrating.

Not having your stuff stolen is really just a matter of being smart about how you carry it and about making sure you don't look like a target to begin with.
