Q: How many of you actively are trying to go home?

I had job interviews when I went back, a few promising ones, but no positions at the moment. My industry has a fairly small circle so now it's a waiting game. I'm just tired of this place and want my normal, civilized life back. How about you? Are you aiming to go home and what steps are you taking?

Naw I'm going to be here awhile. Plus I got a job that actually furthers by career once I do go back home.

I'm quite happy here, if I go back home I will need to get a job and stay some-where....that is a problem. Working here has been good, sometimes things have been just so so, but mainly I quite like it. If your attitude starts to get to you, then maybe it's time to go back home and re-charge and see what it is like, but I know after being overseas for most of the last 10 years it will be very difficult to adjust.

You Guys are lucky, all my real friends have died and if I go back I don't know where I will go.
Maybe I will just stop here until someone tells me I have to go.

Well I had no intention of leaving here in the short term but the cold will eventually kill me. A job offer from the Philippines has me seriously considering heading there. I am not planning on returning home for a while. If I start developing psychopathic dislikes for the place like Njord.......well it certainly will be time to go. I understand mate.

I won't be going home until July, and after that I will most likely come back to China. Next time it will be a bigger city because I will have some experience, and I want a better apartment. I hate reading emails from family, they make me sad. I still feel fairly civilized, but we'll see after I spend more time here.

my purpose in coming here was to save enough money to go back to school and get my masters. 5 more years, and i'll have enough money to leave but i hear a master degree is cheap and less time in england so i might leave after 3 or 4 years if that works out

I used to want to stay, now I'm considering Thailand, or the south of China, I can't stand Beijing's cold and sad winter. Anywhere hot will do.

Well, I have a great job, a wonderful girlfriend, peace of mind and a nice nest egg here, so to be honest I really do not want to leave at this moment in my life.
