think its worth trying and why?

Sorry,i never heard of it.But My husband and I like"Qian wei shuan" hotpot a lot.The sauce is damn delicious.

It's pretty good, and the price isn't too steep. I was a regular patron while I was in Beijing. Better and cheaper than similar deals I've tried in Shenzhen.

Xiabu Xiabu is the Japanese term for Hot Pot.  To be honest, I forget what the Chinese term is at the moment.  Depending on where you are, I would not recommend using Japanese terms in public.  In any case...

 

One of the main reasons that hot pot is so popular is because it is a community meal.  Kind of like Korean BBQ.  Everyone at the table cooks and shares and it promotes a spirit of camaraderie.  

 

To me, the taste is really nothing special, but it is more fun than just sharing a normal meal with friends.  It also has the added bonus of generally being cheaper than normal meals.
