Q: How much are average Shenzhen salaries for Chinese?
Hi, I'm comparing between the salaries, and would like to know how much are salaries for young Chinese people in Shenzhen.
For example, my Chinese friends work in schools for 3000 rmb per month and from that money they pay rent. Is that possible? I'm wondering what would be salary for a Chinese secretary in some small firm in Shenzhen for example?
Thank you.

I would estimate, in Shenzhen, that 2000 would be more the norm...... for someone to be getting 3000, I think she has a good job!!!............... My stepdaughter (certified accountant) works in Guangzhou for a translation outfit, as a do everything "Girl Friday" and is paid 2000 per month..... works 10-11 hours 6-7 days a week...... pays her own rent in a shitty little apartment......... oh to be young again, glad it ain't me.
If you have experience and some college education you should be able to make about 3000+. Most factory workers make about 2000 a month in Shenzhen. Low level office staff will make slightly more and people with more experience and good computer skills make about 3000+ depending on the business.
The business (office) manager at my factory makes about 7000 but she has about 10 years experience.
Trading companies work 5 days a week usually and factories work 6.
owenren:
yes , the average salary is like that
but today has a little changes... even some time for 2500RMB /month is very hard to find ordinary workers...
for the ordinary office staff, salary should be 3000 plus + ... otherwise it's hard to survive....
I am the lucky one, get more than thousand dollars....
I'm living in Foshan prefecture which is very near Shenzhen.
The rent here for a very spacious 3 bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living room and 2 bathrooms is 1000RMB / month.
My girlfriend pays her workers around 1000RMB / month for the workers that require a lot of training due to lack of PC skills / lack of running a Taobao shop skills. She pays around 2200RMB / month for the workers that don't require any training from the date of hire *AND* are willing to work extra hours or night hours.
There's tons of Chinese lining up for these jobs, even though they may seem to be rather low paying.. The turnover rate is pretty bad though, most workers quit the job after 1-2 months of training. Which is why she pays the skilled workers that stay a lot more. Successfully running a profitable taobao shop is much harder and more stressful than most Chinese seem to think it is. My girlfriend has some workers, but she still works over 60 hours a week.
Depends on the firm could be up to 4 to 5 thousand Rmb. As far as living 3000 a month can get you a rather small living area. With transportation and food and all the other small bills you have to pay such as phone bills, electricity and water that leaves them with virtually no money left to do any fun things like travelling or watching movies or even eating at nice fancy restaurants.
I thought every body in China made 2000, just so it's fair.
My friend make about 1000, not RMB, it's 1000 US dollar....
Holy shit salaries for chinese people are really low, I'm sorry to hear that X_X
Well Shenzen is better paid than Nanning that's all I can say.
A Chinese teacher in Nanning is lucky to be on 2000 - 3000RMB and a sales / receptionist will be on 1500RMB plus a commission.
That would depend on a couple of factors....such as how much experience one has, education, work, how long they have been with the company etc., It would range I agree between 2000 on upwards to lets' say average 6 to 8 thousand.>.
Most factory workers make about 2200 RMB per month, and they work for really long hours. For people working in offices outside the city,at least 3000 RMB per month, people working inside the city make much more than that, but the living cost is also much higher.
Well, hard to say, usually blue-collar guys is better than office clerk, in our factory workers are about 3000-5000 RMB, office clerks are only about 3000 RMB, with 2 years experience, usually about 5000 RMB if with good educated backgroud.
