Q: How much caffeine is there in Chinese teas?

I gave up coffee about 6 months ago, and have since switched to drinking tea for my "morning boost". Yesterday, I was slamming back cups of red tea like crazy and simply could not wake up. Does Chinese red even have caffeine in it?

Also, does anyone know which Chinese teas have the most caffeine?

Red tea is actually a tisane. It contains no caffeine at all. All true tea comes from the Camellia Sinensis plant. Red tea also know as Rooibos comes from the Aspalathus linearis plant.

In general, green teas have the least amount of caffeine, black teas the most, and red teas somewhere in between.
