Q: How much do you pay for expat health insurance?
I got a quote from an international health insurance broker company and the cheapest quote was 1600 euros per year! I almost fell off my chair. This seems way too expensive. Is there anyone here who pays less and can recommend the name of an affordable health insurance company (by affordable I mean somewhere in the range of 1000-3000 RMB)

Health Insurance in China is priced, as it is everywhere else, based on your age, your medical history and current health, and the coverage you want with acceptable deductibles.
Maybe one way to reduce premium would be to insure only for major occurrences, with higher deductibles. But from my experience, it is very expensive no matter what.
Have you consider self insurance. Open an account and deposit what premium you are willing to pay, and allow it to accumulate.
