Q: How much does an iphone 4 cost in China?
Is it worth it to buy one here i should i wait and buy it abroad?
I got mine for 700RMB. Works well, but it's weird, the Apple logo haz a little dent in it. It's not the exact same logo as other Apple product, but the seller - from what i understood - told me it's because iPhone 4 is different to make it more recongnizable for customers. It works ok though, although i don't like how they removed some Apple applications and the app store is buggy as hell!
@PoutineDuFion, it sounds like you totally bought a fake iphone. There's no way a real iphone will cost as little as 700 RMB. I bought mine in Hong Kong a few months ago where it's cheaper than in the Mainland and that cost 5700 RMB (Mainland prices were 6000+ at the time). I had friends tell me that prices for iphones in the Mainland have since gone down a bit but you still have to pay around 5000 RMB or so. The apple logo on mine is identical to all other apple product logos so again, you totally bought a fake.
the real iphone 4 hong kong product will cost you around 5000 to 6000 yuan over here and its really expensive. if you get it from england or america i guess it will be around 2000 yuan than..
there are alot of fake copies, chinese shopkeepers are clever enough to cheat you so be a aware guys........ always get iphone from some authorisied dealer in some good established market or super markets
Price will depend on the storage capacity you get. If you go for 64 Gb, in China is close to 8,000 Rmb (real ones, not fakes). In HKG they are upwards of 5600 Rmb, in America between $ 700 and $ 800 US dollars. I do know of a place in UK that sells them for $ 500 US dollars, and claim to be the real ones, not fakes. And they will sell you 3 for $ 1,000 US dollars.
Now, thru a friend that works pretty high at Apple, the cost at wholesale level of an iPhone 4S is around $ 600 US dollars, so you can see how much or how real or fake is the one offered to you.
5000 RMB is going to be average to buy one outright as others have said. But if you buy one from China Mobile you can sign up for a phone/data plan for 5000RMB for 2 years of service and then get the phone for free.
