extending it often means a you need to show them a bank account with loads of money in it.
Just go to HK and get a new 90 visa

dyanisis:

and how much will that cost....................see i plan on leaving at the end of june so i want to get a month extension now, which will take me to april and then i want to get a new 90 day visa which will see out my last few days here

nevermind:

It's cheap, same as it cost you to get the visa in Ireland. But, the trip to HK is the cost. They have a fast processing centre in HK though, you can get it overnight.

The cost of extending the visa should be about 600-800RMB.  It varies depending on the country of your origin.  For Americans, it would be around 800.  For Irish, I don't know.

Getting a 90 day extension may be difficult.  They normally only like to give out 30 day extentions.  But it all depends on the current mood of relations between China and your country.

dyanisis:

i paid an visa agent 1100 rmb last time for the new visa...(and that was for same day).........so maybe i should just go and get 90 day visa again but ourselves and the chinese are the best of friends so may be i should see if i can indeed get the 90 day extension

Chinese relationships almost always trump local rules. If you have the contacts, use them. :) But always be prepared to pay back in kind.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
