Myself and NZteach chated about this tonight.

We were drinking a good IPA.

I am always thankfull for the good people I have met in real life through ECC.

If you make the effort to actually meet people who post here, have a talk over a pint......MOST EXCELLENT.

Not been on for a while cos I had that bloody flu.

I reckon it will recover in a few months. Not to its previous splendor, but to a sustainable level.

Reddit has taken the wind from many Chinese forum sails, but as bot tech improves, I reckon ppl will be turned off from that platform and go back to smaller forums that the bots dont target.

Its a bit like a trip to Yangshou. The tourists book the Hilton, we go for the 200rmb per night riverside hotel. ECC is a cheap boutique hotel by the river, waiting for people to realise the new Hilton is actually shit.

Stiggs:

This is the time of year when a lot of people are off traveling too, and who can be arsed with a Chinese forum when you're chilling on a beach in SE Asia somewhere.

I seem to remember it being quiet around this time of year before.

Lol...the site has been on life support for 3 years.
The only thing that keeps it going is the admin accounts and the Vicki show.
Even I have moved on to other places and only come here to shit stir from time to time.
You might as well turn the site over to a library.
All the relevant China questions have been been asked and replied to in spades.
I defy anybody to come up with a China related question that hasn't been asked or deleted due to Chinese but hurt.

Maybe this forum has a time limit set but the jobs and front page will remain. I keep seeing posts get deleted more and more, even my deported post about that kid on the Beijing subway was deleted. Looks like Viki couldn't save us.

BTW we should trade wechats before this Forum closes down.

Stiggs:

When was your post deleted? There was some sort of technical issue a few days ago that saw everything within the last month lost.

Your post might have been part of that.
