Q: How much money does it cost to get a license plate in Shanghai?

Heard it can cost in the tens of thousands of RMB to get a license plate in Shanghai. Any truth to that?

I heard its over 50 000 now.  Its all done by auction so its hard to say but my friend bought one last year for 50 something thousand so my guess is its well over that now.
