Will this bring China and the USA closer or be just wrong place wrong time thing that will be forgotten in a few weeks ?
I ask partly because the US congress decided against back ground checks on Gun buyers
and partly to gage the general feeling in China .

Well it wasn't a gun it was a BOMB

Now try reading again slowly and with a dictionary open in front of you and try again
I'm getting the feeling that most here are accepting that it was a random act and could basically happen to Anyone, at Anytime, Anywhere. So, I am hearing a lot of sadness, but no outrage (of course outrage towards the perpetrator).
I am in favor of gun control big time,,,, but I am aware that if someone has murder on their mind, there are means available. bomb, poison, mattock to back of head....
What in the hell are you talking about? You didn't even specify who the girl was or how she lost her life. One guy thought it was a bomb you are talking about and another one thinks it's a gun. You should clearly clarify what you are talking about. There could have been 100 young ladies that lost their life. Your question is too VAGUE~!!!
i seriously hope they all decide not to go to the usa. but here's the thing. the ones who are smart will know they are still safer in the usa (see the chinasmack article about the pol car running over a ped )

You really want to mess with me tonight?
Maybe you should ask your English teacher to explain it to you and the other voices in your head
But since I am in such a good mood I will tell you
Once upon a time some f$ck witt planted a couple of nasty things in a crowd in a far far away land called America and it went Boom and so far killed 3 people one of which was a young student from China (you know,,,, where you come from)
not long before the Bad man made the nasty thing go Boom
another Bad mad shot many little people called Children that are loved very much by there Mumy and Dady ( maybe you will meet yours some day)
the big bosses of America said they would do all they could to stop bad people shooting other people but now they have changed their mind because they forgot how much people love their families and think people love guns more
so maybe the Bosses of America will forget that some bad Mad made the Nasty thing go Boom and not care after a little while until another Bad Man do Bad thing

they can take my gun out of my cold dead fingers, or i could move to switzerland i suppose. americans will never trust the government and in a survey only 4 percent of the people care about gun control. must be the evil violent film industry , have to blame somebody.
xinyuren:
ah. you don't trust the government, so you want to carry a gun so you can.... a: shoot "the man" whenever you feel threatened. b: be able to defend yourself against the S.W.A.T team that comes knocking at your door. c: Assassinate your local government official.
I really don't see the rationale for owning handguns or assault rifles. I rarely read a case where a citizen needed to put up a lethal defense against the government. On the other hand, I have read many instances where children or other family members have been shot with a gun from their own home. Guns are designed to kill. If you own a gun, you are acknowledging that you are prepared to kill someone. That's a scary thought.
ambivalentmace:
government policy makes your life more dangerous and then you need the gun. i suggest you try and live in chicago or detroit without a gun, both cities do not allow guns by the way, how is that working out. the cities in america with strict gun laws have the most murders and gun violence. imagine that. crooks will always have guns, but us poor meek sheep are not allowed to defend ourselves. what a pity.
xinyuren:
I was born in Detroit. I never owned a gun or even touched a gun. I knew many people who had guns. Some of them became murderers. That's the problem with this situation. If you give people the tools and opportunity to murder, there is a better chance they will become one. And btw, Michigan residents can indeed carry firearms as long as they have permits. I don't know where you got the idea guns weren't allowed.
TedDBayer:
A person doesn't need a gun, bomb or airplane to kill people. All they need is a car, truck or scooter. Look how many in China are in training to run over people. I'm sure that A*H* that accelerates when you are walking in front of him thinks the hood ornament is a targeting system.
There is little rage, just sadness. I haven't checked the usual expat sensationalist shitty websites like chinasmack that try to create a story out of nothing because of a few anonymous Weibo posts, but everyone I have talked to has expressed sadness at the loss of a bright young pretty girl, and anger at why someone would want to destroy such innocent lives in America.
Apparently the rumours going around the Chinese internet is that talk about Lu Lingzi is being 'discouraged' not because her family requested to be left alone but because she
"was the daughter of a "naked official" - a reference to officials who transfer assets and their families overseas."

as usual though there is no way to verify this, but there has been very little comment on mainstream Chinese media.
you sure about her being poor?
