Q: How the new visa rules will effect a Z-visa extension?
Hi. I am an ESL teacher. I have a Z-visa which expires in 1,5 months same as my contract. I don't know what to do now. I want to find another job but i am afraid it will effect the visa extension process. At least one of the school i applied they cant extend my visa as i am a Non native, who knows maybe it was just an excuse, before the visa extension was not that complicated). So I have 2 Qs:
1. If i stay with my current employer how the visa renewal process will look like due to new visa regulations? I have a FEC now but i ve read there will be a Foreigner's Work Permit. So they will just apply for that FWP (before they just make am extension sign in FEC). I remember last year it was quite easy. My school just uploaded all document i had when i came to China the very first time (including my bachelor degree diploma, non criminal record, medical check etc.). I am afraid this year they will ask me to notarize my diploma, wont they?
2. If i change the employer will the visa extension process be the same as if i stay with the current one or it will be more complicated refer to new visa rules as for NNES?

It depends on where you are, where you are from and the connections your schools got.
Like for example in Shenzhen, renewals or job transfers will be as they've always been until Oct 1st 2017.
So you've got a sporting chance, if I were you I'd stay at your current job. Also you should tell more about yourself next time, we can't help you without knowing where you are and where you are from?

OK, I'll tell you what I see:
Your employer must offer new Contract for RP and FEC extension.
However, Contract isn't valid till SAFEA doesn't issue new or extend old FEC.
So, the shortest way is:
''Send your employer to SAFEA with Q:
'Will SAFEA issue (or 'reissue') new FEC (Working permit) for this foreign English teacher?''
SAFEA's answer is utmost important to you: "will you purchase 'vacation plane ticket' or 'return home plane ticket'!"
The problem is, Chinese employers like to play 'I know everything' over 'go and ask at SAFEA', so you must make sure employer will go there before you even look at new Contract.
I got stamped and signed Contract offer few weeks ago from Public school (Uni) and rep.'s confirmation 'SAFEA will issue new FEC for you' and then I received new email out of Uni 10-days ago that 'SAFEA said new regulation state quote: ''English teacher can teach only in her/his native language!" and we must obey new rules!'. Henan!
That SAFEA's statement made offered Contract (signed & stamped by Uni) invalid!
