Renewal depends on your schools connection, and they are your best chance. Moving isn't wise in your case. Where is your passport from?

My school doesn't have any strong connections i assume. Last year it was no problem. This year they also try to convince me its gonna be easy to renew. But i don't trust them. There re always new ppl come, they always say they re professional and they used to work with visa issues before but then everything turns out they have no idea ho to do that and we foreign teachers should teach our Chinese colleagues how to do their job. I am so tired og all these shit. I dont want to stay in my school anymore even the salary is quite good esp for non native and i don't want to transfer to another school because i know Chinese are the same everywhere. At the beginning they all seem nice and friendly but then they show their real faces and their read attitude. thanks to Chinese government i think its time to leave this country.

Especially school's connections and market demand determine whether you can get a RP. China is not a country with rule of law, so don't take what's on paper to the letter.

Ive been hearing this "truth" for the past 3 years, that i cant obtain a work visa in China as a non native. But the truth is if you have some brains and persistence and not just rely on ur Chinese colleagues and participate in your visa issues, follow law changes then everything with be alright with your legalities. thats what i did: i was always familiar with how the visa things work in China,  i just stood in front of their computers when they uploaded my documents into system to be sure they didnt mess the process up. Cuz chinese think about noodles and rice all the time but not their work obligations. So if i finally decide to leave China that would be just because i am tired to babysit chinese and do what actually they re supposed to do and what they re paid for but not bacause of the visa rules changes.

I second iryna here, I have been in China nearly 10 years, taught for 5 and every year I hear that non-natives are screwed... no but this time for sure! Haha right mate. Every year it's the same and every year they have no problem getting a new visa or getting renewed. Native speakers aren't going to take all those low.paying ESL jobs and even if they did there aren't nearly enough of them tl fill the demand. China simply can't do without non-natives for the very reason that <90% of the ESL industry would collapse if they don't have Foreign faces anymore. As a matter of fact, parents aren't going to send their little snowflakes in a training center with no waijiao. tldr: kick out non-natives, the ESL industry collapses and that many Chinese jobless. The law on paper and the law in real life is very different in China.

That's not it. Guangzhou Tianhe PSB has already started applying the updated rules and requirements for new RP applications and I know of two people from non-native countries who came over this month to teach in some training center and got theirs without any problem.

Did you know that China has anti-pollution laws as strict as the EU? And yet just take a peak out of your window. Also, corruption is punishable by death in China, I want to laugh when I read this. Even silly things like jaywalking will get you a ticket, yet I don't know of anyone who's ever got one even when cops were standing nearby.

CCP is all about pretense, "oh look, we are getting strict and fixing out problems, improving out country to higher standards *much face*", that's what they say for everything, not only Foreign workers but also food safety and I still get laduzi, also counterfeit products and Taobao is still >90% fakes, they also pretend to improve buildings quality but still the same crap.

China is not a country with rule of law, what's on paper is irrelevant. With the silly requirements they have on paper, no one would come over and the multibillions-worth ESL industry would crash, leaving millions of Chinese teachers and staff unemployed because no parent will send their kids to a place that has no Foreign face, do you really think the CCP is ever going to let that happen?

So when OP gets to the PSB, he can just give his passport and current RP to the iron rice bowl drone and everything will be smooth, I am 100% sure about that.

Some ppl re so naive and think laws work in China ))))))) or not naive but just dream about all non natives would have been kicked off from China and their, natives' salaries will arise 100 times! ))))))))))))

The new requirements are with the FEC/ SAFEA if they came here, that part was already done. Let's revisit this next year when the policy is fully operational.

Well next year is next year. And let's see how the ESL market goes nuts when non-natives are forbidden to come and teach Chinese baobei. The same thing happened in Japan around 10 years ago when they decided to strictly ban non-native speakers of English, they thought natives would come in droves but they didn't and the ESL market there has now contracted to about 1/7th of what it once was at its peak.

If you don't believe me then ask all the local Japanese who used to work at Nova, a training center that once held about half of the market but was hardly hit by new regulations, dozens of thousands of Japanese lost their jobs in a matter or weeks, for the scale of China we are talking millions. The market itself has never recovered, and never will.

Either China has learned from Japan or they are willing to sacrifice one major industry for the sake of face, in which case they are not as smart as they claim to be.

It isn't such thing in China (despite new Law changes). IMO, China can't afford such Law because there are too many Chinese English students and there aren't enough Native English teachers on hand in China or even in the whole world. 300 million students of English language in China!

In other words, it is still possible to get an employment in China as NNES.

Statement of Henan Uni rep could also come out of .... if NNES would announce where s/he got new Contract and Native English teacher would send CV to the same School afterward, I believe NNES Contract would get annulled in a heartbeat because School would rather employ Native English teacher over NNES.

Fact is China can't implement the same Law as it is in other, much smaller countries around the world. They can copy it, thou ....

Chinese Gov. would show seriousness with implementation of such Law only in the case when School would be held responsible of issuing Contract to the NNES.

Now, any leader of the School can issue stamped and signed Contract and he/she isn't responsible whatsoever to anybody .... and only who suffers is party B/FT.

Think about moving out of Guangdong to Nei Mongol for RP transfer and after your arrival to Nei Mongol Contract get annulled with similar excuse ...

hi icni77, SAFEA already approved my docs which were uploaded online by my scholol and i am waiting for the FEC renewak (or how it is called now? work permit?) do you know how many days it takes? and the second question: how many days needed to renew Residence permit? a year ago the process took 7 working day. is it the same this year?

I am not sure abut timing. 3-5 business days at PSB for new RP stamp and at SAFEA just wait till they issue new FEC.

As I understand, there aren't any approvals, but once School passed online data input then just need to wait for new FEC.

I am out of China at the moment.
