Q: How often do people die on the Great Wall?

So I went hiking to the wild section of the Great Wall (Jiankou) for the first time over the weekend, and while I wasn't expecting green rolling pastures and sturdy pathways, I was a little surprised at how sketchy it is. There were semi-vertical climbs with huge drops, ultra-thin pathways that would literally collapse beneath you if you're not careful, and several bits where you have to swing yourself over a corner where there's a gap with a drop right down to the bottom of the mountain.

Despite my fear of heights I made it, and ended up with a little bit of scratching, sunburn and some cool stories to tell.

There were a couple of times where I thought I wasn't going to make it though, and it's so easily for inexperienced hikers who may not know what they're doing to take a wrong step. I'm just wondering how often people die/get into trouble on the wall?

I read a Brit had his throat slashed and was killed at the wall .Badaling. Who knows, real crime stats or accidents aren't available.

Last winter two or three Japanese tourists froze to death on the wall.

Lets take Sparkey for a long walk on a long wall, I hear there are gaps, you hold the leash, she dry humps my leg. And I AM NOT picking up after her.
