Q: How to report child molestation in China?

Are there any laws in China about statutory rape and child molestation? How can a foreigner report such a crime?
Will police even do anything but instead leave it to the family to resolve?

If you are working for a school, ask the FAO or your boss or other teachers first. They might help. They might even have mandatory reporting procedures.

I googled and found this:
http://english.chinaconcern.org/child-protection-policy
It's the international China Concern - Child Protection

There is a contact email, and perhaps they can give you information on who to report to. The organization itself works with disabled chinese children, but they would probably have correct information.

I also found 2 articles about child molestation cases in China, and another one stating that reports of molestation have increased (I need to find that one again).

The report about Hong Duo said this:

"According to Chinese law, people convicted of child molestation can face up to five years in prison. The law also sanctions more severe punishments for second offenses.".

So, apparently it can be reported and supposedly investigated or whatever. If you suspect child abuse, and you don't get an answer back from the ICC within a reasonable (short) amount of time, and the school wants to keep out of it, call the police. It's a start. If they won't look into it, ask in a hospital, school officials from other schools, or even a pharmacist. If you aren't proficient with the language, see if you can get someone to help you with it.

I have a feeling you're going to need some kind of proof, or the child will have to come forward and say something. Unfortunately, depending on the child's situation, and who is doing the abusing, she/he might fear speaking out.

Here are the other articles:

Thanks for being willing to report it. It takes a special strength to do so, especially in a country like China.

do not report it to an agency or group outside of china they might deport you but as the others said make sure you are in the right 100% no doubt about it. but also remember where you are it is somewhat acceptable in some areas for young girls (15and up) to be involved with an adult. report it to your FAO and leave it in their hands. whatever you do do not take this outside the country they at the very least will deport maybe even make you out to be the perpetrator in order to shame you and discredit you.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
