Q: How seriously enforced is the 2 years of teaching experience requirment?

I see a lot of jobs that want 2 years of teaching experience. I don't have the experience but would meet all of the other requirements. I understand a lot of things in China aren't always enforced and the employer may have some leeway. Particularly I was looking at Wall Street or Disney English.

As seriously as the "Degree" requirement is enforced.

Some of the larger schools that actually care about their name might care, but there are hundreds that don't care for every one that does.

Depends on a few things: How much profit can you bring to the school?. How badly do they want you? White young female with a degree in Education and a few years teaching experience from one of the 5 will fetch the most income but likewise costs the school the most. Translates to smaller profit.  This teacher will likely be the best marketing tool and therefore bring the most students to the school. The other end of the scale is: No Degree, No Experience, from a Non white country but speaks English. Non Caucasian Male. Will bring in the highest profit but can be dangerous due to the perception of people in China. Not a good marketing tool due to the perception of the Chinese parents.  Another factor is Where in China. What will you be teaching, and how old are the kids.

In a nutshell don't worry about any requirements; just apply.

I agree with Donny. If they like you enough the employer will deal with any problem presented by "requirements".

In China there are no such thing as the impossible.  I've seen English teachers who don't know English be employed as teachers. It depends on the political pull (guangxi) of the school with the authorities.  Try working in a small town.
