most of the time the probation period seems to be to scam you out of a full month's salary.

Unless you are a total incompetent psycho, i have not heard of anyone getting fired during this period

I'm a totally incompetent psycho, and even I wasn't fired during that period. surprise

its doesn't mean much.  as long as you show up to work and prepare your classes dutifully, you wont have a problem.  when i negotiated my contract, i told them they couldnt lower my salary during this month.

probation is totally normal in every job, just make sure you get the same salary
you also have to think about the probation in 2 ways. Its for you and the employer... if you dislike the job you can quit within one day. if they dislike your behavior they also can get rid of you. At the end of the probation both more or less agreed that they are satisfied with each other

I would prefer a 2 month probation period.  That way I can see if the school is consistent. The problem here is the paperwork you will endure if you do leave your school.

Smart! I would agree.

But at the same pay!!!
