Q: How is the "Wolf Warrior" diplomacy campaign working out?

It appears that everyone here is proud of diplomats being aggressive towards basically everything while the world struggles to deal with this pandemic.

I always thought you caught more flies with honey and the carrot came before the stick. What would I know?

One thing I've taken away from this covid thing is that all those stupid Hollywood movies where some catastrophe is threatening earth so all the leaders unite and work together to defeat the threat and everyone lives happily ever after... yeah they're nonsense.

Apparently what happens is the situation devolves into a clash of the buck passing, face saving, blame diverting egos.

If this virus decides to go Spanish flu on us and come back mutated and more lethal and the same clowns are still running this shitshow we're all rooted.

*You half-arse informed international community about the virus outbreak ... and complained at the same time about western block on travellers from China?

*You silenced all Chinese MDs, who sounded alarm ... and kept silence on mano-a-mano virus transmission for 6-days?

*You prevented access to the infected areas in China for international health observers ...?

*You stockpiled personal protection gear from around the world before the virus get hold on everywhere ...?

No, you didn't act with bad intentions whatsoever ... or ''pattern of intent'' in law terms ...

the only thing coming from this covid crisis is :

- increased debt / poverty / unemployment for the majority

- irrational fears being fed on all sides

- increased wealth for already weathy individuals/companies (the purchase of indebted/destroyed companies/businesses has begun)

 - reduction in rational behavior (see point 2 above)

 - more extremism

 - more (future) control of any freedom of movement people were used to enjoy. (see monitoring of individual's movement in China and Russia - all in the name of 'security')

- more stress on families and individuals.

 - more 'emergency' powers being ceceded to governments all in the name of 'security' and 'your own good' because of course governments don't lie.

Instead we get a propaganda war.

Will China’s calls for more ‘Wolf Warriors’ leave country’s diplomats feeling sheepish?

*The country’s foreign minister and ambassador to Britain have backed the combative approach, but observers warn it may only alienate the rest of the world. Foreign Minister Wang Yi backed the “wolf warriors” in a press conference on Sunday.

*Meanwhile, state-owned tabloid Global Times argues that the label is better applied to US diplomacy.

Published: 4:59pm, 25 May, 2020

Senior Chinese diplomats have called for more “Wolf Warriors” to defend the country abroad despite warnings that this combative approach was likely to alienate the rest of the world.

On Sunday Foreign Minister Wang Yi defended this combative approach – named after a series of nationalistic action movies – saying that China would fight back against “slanders” and “firmly defend national honour and dignity”.

“We will lay out the truth to counter gratuitous smears and resolutely maintain fairness and justice and conscience,” Wang said.

Wang also insisted that China had no desire to lord it over the world no matter what state of development it reached, saying “those who go out of their way to label China a hegemon are precisely the ones who refuse to let go of their hegemonic status”.

The article, published on Sunday evening with the headline: “Wolf Warrior diplomacy a US trait”, concluded: “Labelling Chinese diplomacy as ‘Wolf Warrior’ reflects an extreme ideology.”

But observers warned that no matter how much China tried to justify its more aggressive approach to diplomacy, it was likely to backfire.

Wang also insisted that China had no desire to lord it over the world no matter what state of development it reached, saying “those who go out of their way to label China a hegemon are precisely the ones who refuse to let go of their hegemonic status”.

Wang’s comments were echoed by Liu Xiaoming, the outspoken ambassador to Britain, who has previously clashed with TV journalists when defending the country.

“Some people said China now has many Wolf Warriors’, the reason is that there are many ‘wolves’ out there in the world now. If there are ‘wolves’, we must have ‘Wolf Warriors’ to fight,” Liu told state broadcaster CCTV.
“We encourage diplomats at all levels to actively fight. Where there is a ‘wolf’, we need to fight back actively to protect national dignity and interests.”

But Liu said diplomats should still bear in mind that they need to make the general public in other countries understand that China is a country that wants cooperation and values friendship and truth.

Wang and Liu did not explicitly state who they thought was “smearing” or “slandering” the country, but an editorial in Global Times, a state-owned tabloid, said the United States was more wolf-like than China.

“In terms of ‘Wolf Warrior’, the US has peaked in its diplomacy. Just look at how many countries are being sanctioned by the US, in how many places is the US stationing its troops and how many countries’ internal affairs are being interfered with by the US,” the editorial said.

Too soon, too loud: foreign policy advisers tell ‘Wolf Warrior’ diplomats to tone it down

Fergus Ryan, an analyst from Australian Strategic Policy Institute, said that both Xi Jinping and Donald Trump’s attitudes affected diplomats’ behaviour.

“Ultimately, there’s only one person in the Chinese system whose opinion on this aggressive style of diplomacy matters, and that’s Xi Jinping.

“Another key factor is rising hostility from the United States towards China which is helping to accelerate the shift towards a truculent approach to foreign affairs,” said Ryan, who argued that to some extent Chinese diplomats were copying the US president’s own belligerent tone.
“Beijing will continue its pugnacious tone if the approach helps to achieve its diplomatic objectives. But it’s more likely that these displays of aggressive nationalism will only serve to drive the world further away from China,” Ryan said.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi backed the “wolf warriors” in a press conference on Sunday.

I think there is a fundamental misunderstanding of how things work elsewhere.... I appears their view of international relations is deeply flawed and conspiratorial.

The claim that HK protests are controlled by CIA is likely genuinely believed. They are so used to a submissive population that they can't imagine mass action being taken spontaneously from the grassroots, as almost everything in China is manipulated by the Party in some way. They can't conceive of other ways of being.

Similarly, they believe that allies of the US are secretly controlled by the US like puppet states.

Their attempts at infiltration and economic coercion make a lot more sense when you think that this is how they imagine US power functions. For example, the UK's recent u-turn on Huawei was ultimately caused by the pandemic strengthening the hand of rebel Tory MPs who had always opposed Huawei, and now seeing China threaten to cut off medical supplies and threatening a trade boycott against Australia for supporting an inquiry. But Chinese media reported it as entirely down to US pressure - this was a factor in removing Huawei from key parts of infrastructure (otherwise they would lose intelligence sharing within the Five Eyes) but was nothing to do with the decision to remove Huawei outright. I had a conversation with a Wumao pretending to be a Russian here the other day, and it was interested how much he struggled to conceive of the Cold War as anything other than a great power conflict between USSR and a western European "occupied" by the US. Even Soviet propaganda never claimed that France, the UK, Netherlands or Italy were puppets of the USA, and the suggestion is really quite laughable.

They don't believe in multilateral alliances based on common interests and non-state cultural links and person to person connections. To them, every partnership has a superior and an inferior. Therefore, to replace the US they think they just need to be more forceful than the US in economic manipulation and to show their teeth, and then people will obey them.

Unfortunately, they fail to see that American allies might be allies because it happens to serve their interests, and also because they trust the US to be relatively hands off. They assume that US influence over allies is a combination of threats, infiltration, and economic carrot / stick. That might be a part of it but they are willfully blind to how US allies are a) not slaves to the US and b) cooperate with the US only when it is in their interests. Threatening people's sovereignty and trying to bully and demean small countries who don't toe the line isn't going to convince them that cooperation with China is in their long term interests, even if there are short term gains.

    icnif77:

    I concur your  'misunderstanding' term.

Matters in HK will back-fire on China huge. Since US (western) threat, HK will lose international 'special city' designation if mama-China won't stop submitting it, Chinese replied ''USA (west) will be replaced in HK by investments, funds, trade from China ...''.

HK residents now want straight independence similar to Taiwan ...

    Great comments here ...

'Misunderstanding' from Chinese, again. USA doesn't want to intervene in HK ... HK prospered ... 1. 'cause Brits built it; 2. HK has special trading status with western countries.

There's no need for any intervention except ''take off 'the special status" and HK is done" ... and all this 'cause ''You, China-man can't honour the agreement you signed at the handover".

Ridiculous ... but as we say here 'TIC'.

Doesn't matter all Chinese success at transforming China for the last 40-years, they still hold onto 'cave-man mentality'.

Same is with the 'wolf warrior diplomacy' ... I translate it simply into ''Once you step on cat's tail ,,,".

The real financial backer of the HK protest is  Falungong who gets funding from the ex-KMT leaders which is the CHIANG KAI SHEK & SOONG MEI LING controlled organization now hide behind a foundation based in US

The Western governments have very little to do with these riots.

As in all cases of Chinese fighting Chinese it's the Chinese who are responsible.   In this case that includes overseas Chinese and factions opposing Xi JP  on the China.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/china-its-own-worst-enemy

    Excerpt:

Make no mistake: the world will not be the same after this wartime-like crisis. Future historians will regard the pandemic as a turning point that helped to reshape global politics and restructure vital production networks. Indeed, the crisis has made the world wake up to the potential threats stemming from China’s grip on many global supply chains, and moves are already afoot to loosen that control.

More fundamentally, Xi’s actions highlight how political institutions that bend to the whim of a single, omnipotent individual are prone to costly blunders. China’s diplomatic and information offensive to obscure facts and deflect criticism of its COVID-19 response may be only the latest example of its brazen use of censure and coercion to browbeat other countries. But it represents a watershed moment.

In the past, China’s reliance on persuasion secured its admission to international institutions like the World Trade Organization and helped to power its economic rise. But under Xi, spreading disinformation, exercising economic leverage, flexing military muscle, and running targeted influence operations have become China’s favorite tools for getting its way. Diplomacy serves as an adjunct of the Communist Party’s propaganda apparatus.

Xi’s approach is alienating other countries, in the process jeopardizing their appetite for Chinese-made goods, scaring away investors, and accentuating China’s image problem.

Negative views of China and its leadership among Americans have reached a record high. Major economies such as Japan and the US are offering firms relocation subsidies as an incentive to shift production out of China. And India’s new rule requiring prior government approval of any investment from China is the first of its kind.

China currently faces the most daunting international environment since it began opening up in the late 1970s, and now it risks suffering lasting damage to its image and interests. A boomerang effect from Xi’s overreach seems inevitable. A pandemic that originated in China will likely end up weakening the country’s global position and hamstringing its future growth. In this sense, the hollowing out of Hong Kong’s autonomy in the shadow of COVID-19 could prove to be the proverbial straw that breaks the Chinese camel’s back.

Taiwan Draws Up "Humanitarian Assistance" Plan To Resettle Hong Kongers

Taiwan's recently reelected President Tsai Ing-Wen has asked her government to draw up a "humanitarian assistance" plan for Hong Kongers as the US moves to strip the island of its "special status" after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo determined that the territory is no longer functionally independent from Beijing.

Tsai previewed the decision in a tweet sent earlier.

According to Tsai, whose remarks were reported by the SCMP, she asked her government to form an ad hoc committee to work out a humanitarian action plan for Hong Kong people.

Under the plan, Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, its top policy body for all issues pertaining to relations with the mainland, will establish a concrete plan for the administration to help Hongkongers "live, relocate and work in Taiwan," Tsai said.

A new report in the Asia-based online tech journal Insider Paper cites open source satellite images to confirm the latest widespread reporting on the major Chinese PLA troop build-up underway along disputed Sino-Indian border regions.

"The first image shows how the territory originally looked. However, the second image clearly shows massive construction activity going on in the territory."

According to the report, this suggests a significant and rapid Chinese military build-up in the past months along the contested border region amid what Indian media has widely reported since this weekend to be PLA forces digging into fortified positions.

Importantly, the strategic base is a mere 200km away from Pangong lake, where recent skirmishes between Chinese and Indian border patrols took place on May 5th-6th.

The Insider Paper report continues, based on satellite analysis: "The expansion has included something that looks more like a secondary tarmac to combat aircraft or taxi-track. Also, the third image shows a line-up of four fighter jets. They are either J-11 or J-16 fighters of the Chinese PLA Air Force."

China Claims It "Expelled" A "Trespassing" US Warship In Latest Dangerous South China Sea Incident

The Washington-Beijing tit-for-tat is growing on a number of fronts, but has the potential for direct conflict in the South China Sea, where both countries are busy flexing, also on the heels of accusations and counter charges over the COVID-19 pandemic's origins and cover-up.

Fox's Lucas Tomlinson reports Thursday, "One month after U.S. guided-missile destroyer Mustin harassed by Chinese warship from a carrier strike group, the Mustin cruises by contested islands in move likely to irk China."

Specifically the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer sailed near the Paracel Islands in a contested area of the South China Sea.

As the Fox correspondent further reports, the US Navy has dispatched a pair of additional warships to the East China Sea, namely USS New Orleans out of Japan and the guided-missile destroyer Rafael Peralta, the latter also based in the Western Pacific region as part of the Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group.

It goes without saying that US-China relations have reached their lowest point in decades, with a former Trump administration trade official recently warning the spike in tensions brought on by the corona-crisis on the heels of the trade war has marked "the start of a new Cold War"

This has been demonstrated especially with the Pentagon's significant ramping up of B-1 bomber flyovers of contested waters near China over the past weeks

For example, since the start of April there's been no less than 15 US military aircraft flights approaching Taiwan's contested borders, with at least three bomber approaches since the start of May.

Meanwhile, Chinese state media confirmed the US warship presence in the South China Sea, claiming its PLA forces "expelled" an American ship for "trespassing" in China's territorial waters.

As a state-funded Global Times report claimed

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Thursday expelled a US warship that trespassed into Chinese territorial waters off the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea, and the US operation amid the COVID-19 pandemic showed the US is the source that sabotages peace and stability in the South China Sea, a Chinese military spokesperson said on Thursday.

Citing military sources to assert it's part of a long recent history of US violations of Chinese sovereignty, GT stated further, "The PLA Southern Theater Command organized naval and aerial forces to follow the US guided missile destroyer USS Mustin when it illegally trespassed into China's territorial waters off the Xisha Islands on Thursday without authorization from the Chinese government, said Senior Colonel Li Huamin, a spokesperson of the PLA Southern Theater Command, on Tuesday."

The PLA sources said they followed and monitored the ship's course before ultimately driving it out of Chinese-claimed waters.

Of course the US Navy saw things very differently:

"On May 28 (local time), USS Mustin (DDG 89) asserted navigational rights and freedoms in the Paracel Islands, consistent with international law," Lt. Anthony Junco, a spokesperson for the US Navy's 7th Fleet, said in a statement.

"By conducting this operation, the United States demonstrated that these waters are beyond what China can lawfully claim as its territorial sea," the statement added.

In the past two months there's been a very noticeable and dangerous uptick in both American battleships entering contested waters near China's coast and around Taiwan, as well as long-range bomber activity essentially right on the Communist country's doorstep.

Though the trade war and more recent coronavirus blame-game remains but heated rhetoric with occasional mutual expelling of foreign journalists and students, the potential for a direct military 'incident' or 'accident' in the region could be a concrete outlet for boiling tensions and combustible mix leading to violent regional conflict.

China Defies Trump, Approves New Security Law Stripping Hong Kong Of Its Freedoms

Beijing will initiate a far-reaching 'crackdown' to impose the new law on Hong Kong once it takes effect in September.

        Thu, 05/28/2020 - 07:06

One day after the US declared that Hong Kong is no longer "autonomous" from Beijing, China's Politburo Standing Committee on Thursday officially wove a controversial new "National Security" resolution that was approved during last week's National Party Congress into Hong Kong's 'Basic Law' - the de facto constitution left by the British - in defiance of President Trump, and a broader backlash across the West, which has repeatedly stood up to defend Hong Kong's freedoms.

According to the NYT, Beijing will probably initiate a far-reaching 'crackdown' to impose the new law on Hong Kong once it takes effect in September.

Activist groups could be banned. Courts could impose long jail sentences for national security violations. China’s feared security agencies could operate openly in the city.

As we reported last night, losing its 'special status' conferred by the US could strip Hong Kong of its 'international city' designation. As one expert said, Beijing no longer cares about "killing the golden goose" - that is, closing what has been for decades a critical portal to the West and the global financial system.

It's still unclear how many of Hong Kong's freedoms Beijing intends to strip away: this won't become clear until later in the year.

Per the NYT, Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam appeared to hint that certain civil liberties might not be an enduring feature of Hong Kong life. "We are a very free society, so for the time being, people have the freedom to say whatever they want to say," said the chief executive, Carrie Lam, noting, "Rights and freedoms are not absolute."

Though US equity futures pointed to a higher open again on Thursday, analysts cautioned that the growing tensions could trigger a massive "risk off" move in markets in the situation escalates. Pictet’s Luca Paolini said on Bloomberg Television that markets seem to be ignoring this because they're assuming it's just rhetoric.

"For now it’s just words, but if the escalation takes place it’s the worst possible time to have this kind of escalation considering the global economy continues to be incredibly weak," Paolini said.

A China-India Clash Would Be Xi Jinping's Grand Mistake

China may believe intimidation and the sort of ‘salami-slicing’ in which it engages in the South China Sea will enable it to act without consequence against India. That would be a tragic miscalculation.

President Xi Jinping has moved forward with his plans to strip Hong Kong of its separate status and impose the primacy of Chinese communist rule on the former British territory. Xi’s action highlights China’s fundamental dishonesty and should give all states pause in trusting any agreement with the People’s Republic of China given that this was not a simple political deal but a formal Sino-British treaty ratified by both governments in which both agreed to allow Hong Kong to govern itself for 50 years, the basis of the so-called, “One China, Two Systems” policy.

            China’s shameless reaction to protests

Burning cars and riot police in the U.S. featured on front pages around the globe, but it was China’s response that has made headlines.

In China, the protests are being viewed through the prism of U.S. government criticism of China’s crackdown on anti-government protests in Hong Kong. Hu Xijin, the editor of the state-owned Global Times newspaper, tweeted that U.S. officials can now see protests out their own windows: “I want to ask Speaker Pelosi and Secretary Pompeo: Should Beijing support protests in the U.S., like you glorified rioters in Hong Kong?”

Hua Chunying, a Chinese Foreign ministry spokeswoman, pointed out America’s racial unrest by tweeting “I can’t breathe,” which Floyd said before his death.

In the Joint Declaration, the People's Republic of China Government stated that it had decided to resume the exercise of sovereignty over Hong Kong (including Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories) with effect from 1 July 1997 and the United Kingdom Government declared that it would restore Hong Kong to the PRC with effect from 1 July 1997. In the document, the People's Republic of China Government also declared its basic policies regarding Hong Kong.

In accordance with the "One country, two systems" principle agreed between the United Kingdom and the People's Republic of China, the socialist system of the People's Republic of China would not be practised in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and Hong Kong's previous capitalist system and its way of life would remain unchanged for a period of 50 years. This would have left Hong Kong unchanged until 2047.

Hong Kong police ban Tiananmen vigil for first time in 30 years

Hong Kong police on Monday banned an upcoming vigil marking the Tiananmen crackdown anniversary citing the coronavirus pandemic, the first time the gathering has been halted in three decades.

The candlelight June 4 vigil usually attracts huge crowds and is the only place on Chinese soil where such a major commemoration of the anniversary is still allowed.

"I don't see why the government finds political rallies unacceptable while it gave green lights to resumption of schools and other services ranging from catering, karaoke to swimming pools," said Lee Cheuk-yan, chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance which has organised every vigil since 1990.

The alliance called on residents to instead light a candle at 8pm on Thursday and observe one minute of silence wherever they can.

"If we are not allowed to light a candle at a rally, we will let the candles be lit across the city," Lee said.

Lee also vowed that the alliance would continue to chant the slogan "end one-party rule" during the commemoration despite Beijing's recently announced plans to impose a law criminalising acts of subversion, secession, terrorism and foreign interference.

Why Beijing's Wolf Warrior Diplomacy Suddenly Quieted Down

The CCP’s begging for a dialogue with the United States can be interpreted as a delaying tactic and pinning its hopes on the upcoming presidential election...

        icnif77:

Top-level Chinese officials have recently shifted away from the regime’s wolf warrior diplomacy tactic to a more toned-down approach. This turnaround can be interpreted as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) not wanting to decouple from the United States nor shut out of the global economic order led by Washington.

Yang Jiechi, a top member of the Politburo, wrote, “China is always open to dialogue and communication with the U.S.,” in an article dated Aug. 7. Cui Tiankai, Chinese ambassador to the United States, said the U.S.-China relationship should be “cooperation rather than confrontation” at the Aspen Security Forum on Aug. 4. Foreign Minister Wang Yi addressed the China-U.S. Think Tanks Media Forum on July 9, saying, “China can restore and restart the dialogue mechanisms at all levels and in all areas.”

Although the above statements from the CCP officials reveal that Beijing is begging for a dialogue with Washington, the words carry no weight and may not lead to concrete actions.

Wolf Warrior Diplomacy Creates a Global Enemy

For a long time, the CCP has regarded diplomacy to be a way of extending its tyranny. Its aggressive and offensive diplomacy is characterized by the goal of inciting national sentiment and brainwashing the Chinese people.

For example, as former leader of the Communist Party, Mao Zedong’s revolutionary diplomacy was in line with his personal ambition—to become a leader of the world revolution. He classified nearly all nations as enemies. The United States and Western Europe became “imperialists,” the communist countries that abided by the Soviet Union were the “social imperialists,” and the remaining third world countries basically close to Europe and the United States were the “anti-China” faction. The few countries left were the “widespread poor friends” in Africa, which the regime could exploit using its foreign aid policy.

In the 1969 Sino-Soviet border conflict, a very annoyed Soviet Union was preparing to carry out a “surgical nuclear strike” against China. A firm opposition from the United States spared the Chinese people from nuclear attack. Under the provocative “anti-imperialist” and “anti-revisionist” foreign policy of the regime, the Chinese people have suffered endlessly from an arrogant and isolated dictatorship.

The subsequent leaders of the CCP realized that the time wasn’t right for the CCP to become a world leader; so they adopted former leader Deng Xiaoping’s “economic foreign policy with a strong nationalist diplomacy” to confuse the international community. During this period, the CCP organized various demonstrations in mainland China to threaten the international community, such as the 1999 students’ anti-American demonstration, the Chinese internet users’ boycott of French retail giant Carrefour in 2008, the 2012 anti-Japanese protest, and the anti-Korea demonstration in 2017. The wolf warrior diplomats, however, remained quiet.

China’s economy developed rapidly after the United States helped it join the World Trade Organization (WTO). Its national strength also increased significantly, especially after it surpassed Japan to become the world’s second largest economy in 2010. Its capital strength seemed to prepare the CCP to achieve its ambition of changing the world order so it dominated the world. CCP hack writer Jin Canrong, a professor on Sino-U.S. relations at Renmin University of China, even declared the so-called “win-win” as China wins twice. The new superpower is now ready to launch its revolutionary diplomatic wars around the world.

The global pandemic enabled the wolf warrior diplomats to launch a series of attacks in order to shirk accountability for the wide spread of the CCP virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus. First, they inferred that the United States was the source of COVID-19, which provoked the China-U.S. conflict. Second, shamelessly demanding gratitude from the world for providing defective face masks. Third, the Chinese ambassador to Australia warned Australia to stop the international inquiry into the origin of the CCP virus. Fourth, the Chinese ambassador to Paris slandered staff in France’s nursing homes on his embassy’s website and sharply criticized the Western response to the outbreak for being laggardly. Fifth, the Chinese Embassy in Brazil tweeted that Eduardo Bolsonaro, the son of the President of Brazil, had been infected with a “mental virus” during a recent trip to the United States after he tweeted that the regime is a “dictatorship.” Sixth, the Chinese Embassy in Germany called local tabloid BILD “bad” when it claimed that China owes a debt to Germany because of the CCP virus pandemic. Seventh, the Chinese Embassy in Sweden posted on its website that think tank Frivärld’s claim that “China should apologize” is totally groundless, unjustified, and is a more terrifying virus.

These diplomatic spats caused by the wolf warriors on the surface demonstrate the tough line of the regime, but also constantly brainwash the Chinese people. As the state-run media Global Times wrote, “The days of China getting bullied are gone.” The ultimate goal of such tactics is to trap the international community into the blame game and obfuscate the fundamental issue of the source of pandemic.

However, this wolf warrior diplomacy has brought an obvious side effect, namely, “the big power diplomacy with Chinese characteristics” proposed by CCP leader Xi Jinping has deteriorated to distrust by all countries in the world, and to once again becoming the “human enemy.” A recent Pew Research Center survey showed “roughly two-thirds of Americans now have a negative opinion of China, the highest percentage recorded” since Pew began asking the question 15 years ago.

Shifting to Dialogue Mode Buys Time

Wolf warrior diplomacy has not only failed to elevate international power proposed by China’s foreign ministry, it has ruined the image of a worldly new power the CCP created through painstaking efforts.

The relationship between the CCP and other countries in the world continues to deteriorate—especially U.S.-China relations. After U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that the freedom-loving nations of the world “must start by changing how our people and our partners perceive the Chinese Communist Party,” and (we) “can’t treat this incarnation of China as a normal country, just like any other,” the regime finally realized the change in U.S. foreign policy toward the CCP. In order to maintain the legitimacy of the regime, the CCP top officials had to beg for a dialogue with the United States.

Yang Jiechi, a Politburo member and director of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China wrote:

“The two countries need to engage in dialogue and communication in all areas. China is always open to dialogue and communication with the U.S.”

Obviously, Yang deliberately forgot what Pompeo said in his speech, “Yang’s promises, like so many the CCP made before him, were empty.” The dialogue will not occur because the United States has recognized, as Pompeo stated, “that the only way—the only way to truly change communist China is to act not on the basis of what Chinese leaders say, but how they behave.”

The United States has said it clearly:

“When it comes to the CCP … we must distrust and verify.”

The CCP’s begging for a dialogue with the United States can be interpreted as a delaying tactic and pinning its hopes on the upcoming presidential election.

“China prefers that President Trump—whom Beijing sees as unpredictable—does not win reelection,” according to a statement made by NCSC (U.S. National Counterintelligence and Security Center) Director William Evanina on Aug. 7.

The CCP has never given up its ambitions of global hegemony. Therefore, the United States must be alert to the current behavior of the CCP, because what the CCP does has always threatened the security of the United States and the world.

CCP Breaking Away From World Economic Order

As we all know, from the cover-up of the coronavirus outbreak to the suppression of whistleblowers, the CCP’s actions, aided by the WHO director general’s misleading information, have led to a world pandemic that continues to erode the international community. It is inevitable for people around the world to demand compensation from the CCP for damages caused by the virus. Already, some countries in Africa have publicly asked the CCP to reduce or forgive their debts—this is compensation in disguise. Conflicts around the issue of claims will erupt after the pandemic is over. The CCP may have to leave the international economic order.

Countries will not move their industrial supply chains to China, especially after seeing the threat of the CCP’s tyranny to the global economy and politics. Considering national security and the safety of people’s lives and health, countries will accelerate their decoupling with the regime. A tidal wave of decoupling from the CCP has already begun.

Countries involved in cooperation projects and organizations led by the CCP’s investment-oriented “One Belt, One Road” (OBOR, also known as Belt and Road Initiative), Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the BRICS, have had serious conflicts and disagreements with the CCP over the pandemic and diplomacy. India and Brazil, members of the BRICS, for instance, have shown deteriorating relations with the CCP.

Through the pandemic, deterioration of relations between the CCP and other countries has accelerated. Once the industrial chain moves out of China, it will be difficult to get it back. The status of “world factory” will never return. The CCP’s perverse actions will only lead to its exclusion from the international community and the world economic order.

A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market.
