Q: How to work as a spanish teacher in China?

I´d like to find an international school to teach Spanish in China but I am a bit lost, I don´t really know how to start searching.
If someone has done it before and could help me, I´d really apreciate it.
Thank you.

There are jobs for Spanish-teachers that appear from time-to-time on the 'Net here in China.  There are a few universities that hire.  The first place to begin is online -- you might wish to try www.eslteachersboard.com and do a search for Spanish teachers under the China rubric.  Additionally, I have seen jobs for Spanish teachers right here on www.echinacities.com/jobs. You may wish to look there also.  Additionally, the largest agency in China carries jobs for Spanish teachers now and then -- www.anesl.com.  Do a similar search as before.  They are rare but they do exist.

Hi Maria, welcome here.  Where are you from ?.  I have seen many adds for Spanish teachers, more for private tutors than for classroom teachers.  Maybe because China does business with Spain and Central and South American countries at an increased rate.  But GOOD LUCK TO YOU !

Same in Spanish below:  Hola Maria, bienvenida.  De donde eres?  He visto muchos anuncios solicitando profesores de Espanol poque China comercia con Espana y paises de Cenrto y Sur america cada dia mas.  Te deseo MUCHA SUERTE.

Maria,

Try the major "Foreign Language Universities" if your qualifications are up to par.

Beijing University of Foreign Languages, Guangzhou University of Foreign Languages, etc., etc.

I looked into this once for a friend of mine. There is a Spanish alliance or something like that here. Maybe email your embassy in Beijing and see if they can get you started?

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
