Chinese language i mean..................is it good or bad.....and do you know any dialects.............JUST CURIOUS
My Chinese is frustrating. I started studying about 8 years ago but I made the mistake of only learning to read pinyin. Then after four years of self study I realized that living here, the best thing I could do would be to study the characters as well, so for the last four years i've been relearning a load of stuff i'd already learnt. Like I said, frustrating. On the whole i'm doing fine but i've kind of hit a comfortable plateau which makes me lazy in my study. You could probably draw a comparison between my speaking level and that of a 7 year old child's. Elementary but capable.
Zilch or pretty close to it. On a scale of 1 too 100.......I'm a 5.
It is at a level I am comfortable with. I didn't come here to learn the language. I came here to make money and get the top of my feet waxed.
I'm on the verge of a breakthrough everyday but then i realize that there's still a ton of shit to learn and I'm only........ok.
Good to see that Mattie and one of his alts are back. This board almost felt lonely without his inane comments and his pathetic point grabs.
Absolute beginner, my speaking is abysmal, my listening marginally better, my reading is genuine beginner level and my writing a tad better than that.
I don't know why but every time I learn a language, I always struggle with the speaking and listening the most. Still I've got the rest of a lifetime to perfect this language and I AM trying.
I barely learned any Chinese, even in China. I learned most of the basic Chinese I know from a Chinese class I took in college. However, my Korean is going swimmingly...I hope.
my Chinese is pretty good because i passed HSK exam
I speak about 40 words and understand about 100 and I can read about 5 characters.
But I have hosts..English speaking Chinese friends and a Chinese GF to help me so I have become lazy in my learning.
I took a Mandarin class back home for 1 month at a college then was sent back to China...oh well.
my Chinese is fluent, but learning chinese is the most useless thing u can do with ur time.. Better don't understand what they say...trust me.
Diabolical to say the least
I came here suddenly, and so didn't have time to study the language
Been here a few months, and i know and understand a few words.
My colleagues try to teach me everyday, but by next morning i have forgot.
Think it was all the drugs and booze in my younger days has fried my brain.
my chinese is good..............i also can speak a bit cantonese
Createach:
i took a course in Zhongshan university which one of the best universities in China.........so i guess my chinese is good enough to compete with chinese people
honestly, chinese is just good for two things:
u open ur own company
u fight with a guy and the whole city comes to beat u up...then u can talk...
