Q: How is your Chinese compared to how long you have studied the language?

The MarTiaN asked about our Chinese language skills relative to our time here, but how would you rate your Chinese abilities based on study time including formal classes and self-study?

Do you study every day?

I started my study yesterday.

The MarTiaN? C'mon man, get it right, i'm not the bleeding MarTiaN, i'm 'mArtiAn'. Sheesh. Those double A's are there for a reason mate. But in answer to your question I would have to be honest and say that I actually started studying two years before I even came here, that I often studied for four hours a day, that I went to college in Guilin for four months, that I continue to study regularly, and STILL have the comprehension capacity of an ape. But i'm NOT about to do that, it would only be embarrassing. Nope, what I am going to say is that I have a natural ability for language learning, I flicked through a dictionary one day for about twenty minutes, and now speak with the fluency of PRC native.

MaRtIan, thanks for sharing.

Based on your experience no one has the slightest chance of learning Chinese. Not even the Chinese.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
