Q: I am committed to a meeting a high school friend half way between Guangzhou and Vancouver
obviously the middle of the Pacific ocean is not a good or possible place to meet..... so ..the other way... I am guessing Rome or Athens ..... .. I have searched but .. stupid questions get stupid answers ...... prefer he had the extra hundred miles.... where????

Japan or Korea??? His flight time is longer, but Japan isnt a bad flight from Vancouver. Ive done it. Not that expensive for either party as well.
looking on google earth... please help... but it looks like Iceland or Norway or Sweden are decent options.... sure surprised me.... ..I'd love to go to Norway or Sweden for a few days.
no way he would settle for me just popping up to Korea .. or Japan.......Half way.....

yup, but if you are to meet, why not the place where some monks who care little about profits, brew beers that have won "Worlds best beer".
They only brew enough to keep the place running, so the beer is kind of difficult to get. Sure any good Belgo Bar would have it. This would be a pilgrimage for anyone who claism to like beer.

Did you try nicotine patch?
You crave cig, because level of nicotine in blood is low. Patch deliver nicotine to your blood through skin, so there's less craving. Even if you light one while having patch on, it tastes disgusting.
30 or 45 days with patch worked for me some 20Y ago. It is suggested, you change patch every 24h, but after 10th day, I would change it every 2nd day.
Today, I just crave cig moves, so sometimes I puff Habanas.
try Hawaii, why half way?, the air fare is about the same for travelling all the way.
