Yeah I totally agree. By seeing people's views, I like their honesty. It's easy for me to pinpoint the cool people and the morons. (And the wu mattaya maos)

First I visited this site for searching a suitable job for me...but as time passes..i started to visit other section and then finally i am addicted to it...after drunk..it is my first website that i use to open..I especially see the answers of Guilinraf..I find his answers more mature and based on his experience which give you perfect understanding of any question..There are also othe couple of guys like xpat john whose posting provides us good knowledge...

Some answers really makes you laugh..some answers really make you a thinking guy on a particular topic...
I still remember the day when i read a question in which one of the member explained how "his landord took his whole door just to repair the lock of the door...Oh My God..I laughed a lot at that day just by assuming the situation and my whole beer glass fall on clothes"
thanks to all of you guys...your answers really helped me a lot..make laugh and also let me think that people can be stupid like him (You can Guess)

I appreciate the members of this Board, particularly the Canadians, because they are impeccably polite, never engage in profanity, always provide answers rich in context, always offer on-China remarks that are well-balanced and substantive, etc., etc.  Truly, indeed! Well, no, the Aussies, let me think.

I have to admit that if it weren't for the variety of the people here and their answers/questions, I would have left long ago.  But overall, the people here are good and provide what information/views they can.

When I was living in China, this site was a great venting point for me.  Now that I have left, it is a great way to remind myself of what I left behind.

what I like about it, is that it is alive and  used every day..........  when I first got here and was looking for stuff about China, it seemed like there was a dead end at 2006........  very frustrating looking at 5 year old stuff ..........  here it is at least up to date even if it is all BS.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
