Q: I feel sorry for the Chinese man.

So I see this more and more and I know we have gone over the maturity comparison of the Chinese woman on these forums and not every woman is the same.  So my question is why do women here in China treat their men like little b----?

I was walking down the street and this couple was arguing, and the guy was holding his ground pretty good it looked like till the girl started jumping up and down pouting. !?!  I guess he gave in because she stopped and changed her mood.  But after she started scolding him like a little dog with her finger just yelling, like the pouting and jumping wasn't enough.

Is it because of the countries women to men ratio or what gives on this?  If a Chinese girl did this to me I would tell her to go kick rocks and play in traffic.  What other instances of this have you seen and share your thoughts please.

You think there aren't women in other countries who wear the pants in a relationship? The only difference is that in China, sa jiao and other "cute" or "feminine" behaviors are allowed that aren't allowed in Western countries. This can be the result on the extreme end.

Women wear the pants in alot of relationships in a lot of different countries. I do agree about the jumping up and down and pouting thouhg, I tend to see that more often in China it seems.  I think it's like Jnusb416 said about "feminine"/"cute" behaviour being more culturaly excepted in China while in Western countries we expect women to act more grown up during disagreements.

Without really knowing what that couple was saying, it could've just been a case of the guy really loving his girl and knowing which battles to take a stand in and which ones just to let it go and cave in, I think this happens in ALL relationships.

This is why they drink baijiu.  It's the only thing strong enough to dull the pain.

The question is...have you ever seen a Chinese girl act this way with a foreign bf?

My gf would has never and would never act this way.  She know better and has discretion.  She just chews me out in private.

This is why I only need beer to dull the pain.

badtroll:

Go back up top the top of the page and READ, find the sentences with the question marks!  Those are the questions.  If it's that hard for you to spot them, maybe it's better you keep living with your mom, it will make life easier for you.

I'd say ,Not all Chinese women are like that,But some,so it depends on the Individual .

a lot of Chinese women treat their men nice, they just show their love through actions, cause Chinese people are a bit shy to say "I love you" to their partners,,Like my parents,I never heard they say I love you or I like you to each other,But they do from their actions I can tell.

On the other hand,Some Chinese women treat their men like Shit, Honestly,I got nothing to say to them.in a sentence,They should not get married.

As a Chinese woman,I had Chinese bfs before and I always treat them nice ,of course They treat me nice too.

I would never be a rude woman in public and I will do my best even I am angry, nobody can tell,Face is important in public, even for a westerner in a way, after with my guy  in private,I will tell  him how angry I am  and tell him he should not do that again something like that.He likes the way I deal with.

Does it count if i said it happened to me too?......Will you feel sorry for me or you will consider me a puss and call me a soft one?.......This is not a chinese thing....It is a thing that might happen anywhere with anyone in any love relationship.....Feel sorry for all not only the chinese and remember Love makes things smooth when a girl act like rain man.

I did not say this was only confined to China, but I have traveled to 14 different countries and not seen behavior at least in public.  And I would not post on one occurrence, I have seen it many times here!  Just my thoughts.

I've said this before about a bunch of stuff and i'm beginning to wonder whether I spend my time walking around with my eyes closed, i'm so blind to all this stuff, but in 7 years, in which time i've lived in 5 different cities, I have not seen anything in particular to make me think Chinese men are pussy-whipped, wife-beaten, or different from western men in any significant way. Strange. Strange, strange, strange, strange, strange.

GuilinRaf:

I have seen about the same proportions as  back home. I have seen some who were terrible beaters, and some who were P-whipped, but not really in any greater proportion than back home (though in Guilin I saw more wife-beating than in Beijing).

What DOES stand out is the Sa jiao, which I have seen variants. Some of it is just pouty and other times it is..... terrible. But that is another topic.

What is sa jiao?

GuilinRaf:

Sa jiao is a behavior that Chinese girlfriends do to their boyfriends to get something, basically acting childlike (whining, pouting, stomping their foot) but can also include hitting (from softly to knockout) and yelling.

Some find it cute.

Some find it.... not.

From what I can see most Chinese married men are almost oblivious to their wives. I have not seen more than a handful who actually submit to the will of their wives.

GuilinRaf:

That is because they have their "bao er nai"
