Passed - just like any other bowel movement.
coineineagh:
Technically, "getting passed" should be bad news. But we need to cut Vicky some slack.
icnif77:
I wanted to write warning at yours: ''An explanation of 'CDC' isn't allowed''
Congrats for you . White guys in China will be more happy now
Congratulations. Are you going there to travel or work?
Shining_brow:
Wow! 4 downvotes :(
Some nasty people around....
While I'm not super excited (as Strawberry is), I still don't see the need to downvote a congratulatory sentiment.
Strawberry66:
Travel:) If I go to work,I would have to apply a new visa. Has to do everything legally.
Stiggs:
@Shining_brow... yeah I know what you mean... just miserable people IMO . I mean, I get that people have issues with Vicky but who f**king cares, if they're not interested in what she says, just don't read her posts. Seems pretty simple to me.
Strawberry66:
:) Thank you. I will travel to Europe after America. I guess it would be easy for me to get tourist visas to other western countries after US
icnif77:
One shouldn't seek logic in down-votes. That could be votes of two posters with 2 diff. handles.
When I'm 'attacked' badly, I usually only comment. You can 'blow' my comment.
Blow-up or blow-down.
Passed? you mean your visa was approved?
Strawberry66:
Yup. Thirlled. I told the Americans I met on subway I am going to their country and that I am happy :)
Passed - just like any other bowel movement.

Good stuff Vicky.
Now you can do a detailed instruction on how Chinese Nationals can get a US visa and post it on here.
icnif77:
You shutup, Scottish. No 'proof' needed here-o.
I must edit. Ur count is changing rapidly: 'You got 3-downs already'.
ScotsAlan:
Lol. I aint asking for proof. Its a common question on here. How to get a US visa. Vicky knows now so she can share her experience :)
icnif77:
I'm saving my vote for an 'intervention' After careful consideration, I decided to open-it-up here, because explanations are pending.
ScotsAlan:
And I always get the same number of downvotes everytime I post on a Vicky thread. As do most people. Wonder why that is :)
Strawberry66:
They will need to fill in the DS160 form in English. Guess a bit tough for them.to firgire it out. I can do it for them by charging them. I get my visa approved sucessfully and I could help with the instruction too. Won't you think it's a great business?
ScotsAlan:
Should we charge her for all of the answers we have given to her questions ?
great news for you, hope you have a great visit
Strawberry66:
I applied to visit US directly and got approved. I did not travel to any other country.
far out ! (vicky, that's just an old American way of saying 'cool', or 'good')
where will u visit? are u meeting anyone there? u should go to your bank in Shanghai and get some American money. Airport exchanges give bad rates and sometimes even add a fee on top of it. besides it will be one less thing to worry about on travel day. have u flown much? request an aisle seat if possible. pack lightly. carrying stuff gets tiresome fast! and excess baggage fees are absolutely sky-high ! always leave for airport early. rushing to catch a flight is very stressful. and airlines expect u to check-in for international flights at least two hours b4 departure time. best wishes 2 u
Shining_brow:
Aisle seat???? Why?? I always take the window... a) I don't have ppl climbing over me all the time, and b) the view. (granted, going south is far more interesting than flying east).
I don't think she should worry too much about travelling light.... most international flights allow at least 20Kg... which would be a right PITA to be just travelling with. She should be more concerned about what she brings back!
icnif77:
It's much more leg-room in aisle, an-ddd....stewardeses can't walk by the window seat, but from aisle one can have his eyes 'resting' on the uniforms, hair-do-s, make-ups, legs and things.
I do trains too often. Must 'aisle' myself somewhere soon.
Strawberry66:
I will change some cash to USD dollars. But I think it's unsafe to bring lots of cash with me. I guess I might just use my credit card in the US. I will contact my bank for the rate. Also, will it safe to fall asleep on airplane as its a long flight to NYC? I worry my pursue might get stolen if I fall asleep,
diverdude1:
yeah, aisle or window - both have plusses and minuses. short flight I do like window too... the view and u can kinda tune-out the whole aircraft and get a feeling of solitude... which I find very relaxing.
On a long flight I prefer aisle.. I'm kinda a restless guy and I like to get up and go to the loo often without having to disturb others, who are usually asleep, by climbing over them. I didn't know they allow 20kg. seems some cheap-ass china airlines allow about 5kg! they shafted me last time for excess baggage fees. I had like 2 reasonable size suitcases.
vicky, ur purse is not in much danger,,, the sorta people on international flights are typically not the purse snatcher types. still, exercise due diligence. just keep it by your side .. that might be the best way. I dunno, I don't carry a purse...
Strawberry66:
I am the restless one as well. Hopefully a hot guy sits besides me. It will make my.long flight more enjoyable.
Shining_brow:
Sit next to a hot purse-snatching guy! Enjoyable and interesting!!!!
Incif... yeah, ok, that too :)
Diver - it's rare (never??) that I've been on a flight that didn't have at least a 20kg allowance, unless it was specifically a cheap-arse flight (AirAsia type).
TedDBayer:
window seat , then you have something to lean on and sleep, I wish I had sleeping pills, I go to sleep and wake up 10 minutes later, such a long boring flght
Strawberry66:
Can I charge my phone and ipad on international flight? Can my phone receive wifi?
What kind of suitcase can I bring with me on the flight? I also worry how many things I can take back with me from America. I will do shopping there.icnif77:
@Ted: 'sleeping pills'? What about your 'duty free bottle of scotch' in carry-on? I just hate airplane's plastic cups. Can't drink scotch from plastic.
I don't do pills.
Good for you. Next thing you know you'll be posting bile on a foreigners in USA forum, complain about everything and never think to leave. Then you can leave for another country, scour the internet for anti-American saddo website, copy and paste rubbish on to this forum. Is there an eAmericacities? or alternatively you can give useful advice to other Chinese coming to America, chill out and try to be as positive as possible.
Are you going there to work. Can you not get a decent job in China
Strawberry66:
Nah,I am not good enough to be hired to work there so I just travel to the US.
Make sure that your credit card will work in USA, if you plan on using it there
Strawberry66:
My bank told me before my credit card works in overseas. Not sure if I can use my credit cars in the most places in the US. In Shanghai I even pay my normal lunch by my credit card.
Are you going as part of a tour group? Usually young single women who don't have a lot of assets will get rejected for a tourist visa because they assume you want to immigrate. Anyways, congrats.
Strawberry66:
I applied to travel to US alone. I did not get any help from any tourist agent.
Yay. I told the officer interviewed me that I am single and I am going to travel and she approved my visa application. I am happened to be a very lucky one. after 3 minutes I got passed. And US is my first country to go visit by myself. I would never go with a tourist agent if possible,so boring.
Ooooo, she asked me if I spoke English and I then had an English conversation with her.
dongbeiren:
I'm really surprised you passed - you legally have to overcome the assumption that you want to immigrate. How did you convince the official that you don't intend to immigrate? Usually having a stable high income job, house and car and lots of money in the bank are the best ways to do that.
Hotwater:
Vicky does have assets...she's got a curvy ass!
Seems like the USA is aiming for more tourist dollars now.
Good luck Vicky, enjoy yourself there.
Strawberry66:
I did not try hard to convice the officer.
Question 1: Are you married?
Me: No.
Question 2: What are you going to America for?
Me:Travel
Question 3: What is your company doi?
Me: Chemical.
Question 4: What kind of chemical and where are they used for?
Me: Medicine and we are just a trading company and I do not know much about how the chemical to be used.
Question 5: What's your job and how long have you been working in this company?
Me:International sales and I have worked in this company for a year.
Question 5: Why you not go to travel to the US 3-4 years ago?
Me: I had no money before.
3 Minutes latter,I heard her saying PASS. And she took my passport.
Strawberry66:
The officer also asked me if I speak English. Then we started to have the conversation in English.
Before my turn to speak to her,I was telling a guy waitting in the line that the officer looks pretty.Strawberry66:
After I came out and got on subway to go to work in company. I was thirlled and smiling and I met Americans and European, I told them I am passed with visa application and going to New York City. They all happy for me.
Strawberry66:
I am from a rich city in ZheJiang province. And I have a stable job in Shanghai. I guess it helpped. I guess people from ZheJiang shop lots in the US and I guess many shop luxury in the US. It is good for them to bring me there I guess. They know I will spend money there for helpping with their econome and indeed I will shop some gifts for my family and friends. I am approved to travel alone in Hongkong and Marco alone last year, which my collegues from other provinces are not allowed to travel alone in Hongkong and Marco. I guess where I was originaly from helpped with my visa to go to the US.
Hang on. Last month you couldn't afford a decent laptop and bought some cheap face rubbish. Now you are going to america?
Strawberry66:
Who said I could not afford a decent laptop? Just do not want to spend much. It's not face rubbish. You judge everyone who has an ipad is buying for face, that mean you have serious personality problem.
dom87:
is there any advantage of iCrap things? As far as i remember the always lose the performance tests.
so iCrap is still just a label thing - same as Gucci -> face, show off.
Just can't really gain face because every troll has it, even hair cutters who earn 2000
Strawberry66:
Pathetic personality.
I always heard stupid people saying: Look, this young girl is carrying LV,she must be a second rich girl or a mistress. Look at those chinese people carrying iphone, ipad, apple laptap, apple watch, they just want to show off and gain face.
Just stop fucking judging people without even knowing them. Soctalan is one of the stupid westerners who kept calling me passport chaser just because I want to marry a white man. Stupid people are alike. I am sure you can be friend with him.oldscholar:
You have come on here telling us about buying overpriced, under performing Apple crap and how you really only buy bags for their style but for some reason it must be the copy of the brand name style. Now you are learning that most westerners despise people like this and consider them just to be wannabe posers. This question tells us you are accepted for travel to the US but as we now know you are not, well not yet anyway. As soon as someone says something you don't like you resort to bad language and name calling. Why don't you just do us all a favour and go away and do your own research, just like the rest of us have to, and failing that ask your many wise friends you have told us about. Perhaps the reason you keep asking stupid questions on here is because you don't really have any wise friends at all.
Any security advice for my trip alone going to America? Any places near NYC for me to visit during the 10 days trip? Which airline is safe for me to take? How about Chinese airline? How much will cost me for a normal meal in New York City? Any recommendation about safe and cheap hotel to accept foreigner in NYC?
Which airport is closer to the downtown of NYC?
What's the most popular chatting tool Americans using now?
ScotsAlan:
You done your homework then. Go find a NY forum and ask there.
diverdude1:
If I were u I would spend my entire 10 days in Manhattan (ok, add a day trip into Brooklyn). In ten days you can start to get a feel for the place and say that u have actually experienced 'The Big Apple'.
Top of the Empire State Building is a must. The iconic skyscraper that set the standards for all to follow.
You can eat cheaply and experience part of NY Lifestyle with the Sabrett's Hot Dog. Delicious and a True part of the NYC experience.
Hotwater:
Vicky, there are no restrictions on which hotels foreigners can stay in when in foreigner land, not like in China!
dongbeiren:
There are no cheap hotels in New York but you can try the Hotel Pennsylvania. Should be around 1,000 rmb per night which is the cheapest you will find in Manhattan. Also foreigners can stay anywhere in the states, other countries don't discriminate and track people like China does. If you're flying internationally you will land in either Kennedy or Newark, both of which are near enough to the city by public transportation. Chatting tools...... I don't know anyone who chats with strangers but there are always dating sites and Craigslist. But craigslist is full of sickos so be careful.
dongbeiren:
And a meal can range from 6 dollars for subway/pizza/street vendor food to as high as the sky. But going to a diner or cheap restaurant should be about 10$-15$ for meal including tip (remember to tip 15-20% at restaurants)
Spiderboenz:
If you have a waiter, you tip. A normal tip is between 15-20% of the bill. If you want to be cheap, you can do 10%. Fast food, take-out, and street food doesn't get tips.
Where can you get a meal in a restaurant in NYC for $10?
Funny, I have never paid more than 300 RMB per night whenever I went to Manhattan.
Strawberry66:
Guys,thank you. Those are helpful.
And my visa is issued today. I now should start doing reseach for my trip to go to the US.Maybe you can also migrate to eAmericaCities Answers?
congrats
Strawberry66:
Thank you. But I think I may misunderstood the word "pass" the consular official told me. However I will have to wait until the visa got issued to be sure.
Have you got your visa already or not? Confused...
Seems you even didn't submit your ticket booking and itinerary which I think its quite essential to apply US visa...
I am also planning to visit US,but I am worried about my visa though I have been to Europe and many countries in Asia.
Please give us some tips if you have the visa, thank you.
I believe in this particular instance, "passed" was used in the negative. You Should've paid more attention in English class luv.
Careful what you say, in 'Murica minorities are people too, Japan is our friend, we don't care how much money you have and no White guy will marry you on the spot.
Have a nice trip.
