There will probably be no penalty if you play the "dumb laowai" card and do a bit of koutou-ing.

Sooner rather than later is probably a good idea too.

I agree with iwolf. Local police don't take the registration too seriously. You will be fine. Pop along tomorrow and they will be pleased to actually have something to do.

What sort of visa is it? Do you mean residence permit?.

If you are staying in a private residence you need to register with the local Police to get your "Registration form of temporary residence for visitors".

It all depends on your visa type. Work Visas are tied to a specific employer in a specific location.

Just go to the Police and ask them what to do! School representative should take you to Police.

Play stupid, and tell them 'I'm sorry', and 'I didn't know'. 'It won't happened again'

In hangzhou they can extend working visa only for 6months and after every expiry it needs to renew visa and working card after every 6months

icnif77:

I've never heard of this one. There are no 6 months working visas in China.

Is Hangzhou in China?

Is my reply kind?

I want to find here that i can register my new visa in my current city or need to go back to the city where i have gotten it.i mean i can register it in beijing r need to go hangzhou where it s issued

Hotwater:

So you've got a work permit and resident visa issued in Hangzhou, therefore supposed to be working for a Hangzhou based company.

But you're actual living and working in Beijing?

Be careful......sounds like you're employer is working round the rules & couldn't get you a work permit for their Beijing branch. This has happened to ESL teachers a lot.

"working visa" is always only valid 30 days. If you change it to the rp it last as long as your contract states (but at most 1 year).

So 6 month rp + FEC is possible
