My inlaws don't and now some colleagues (foreigners) are telling me they don't either. What going on here?
Yes part of my routine for getting ready for work, good start to the day
My Chinese wife and I both shower every day. She showers at night before going to bed and I shower in the morning. (Which drives her crazy. )
I almost never shower every day. Well, maybe sometimes in the summer, if it's really hot and humid and I feel disgusting. Honestly, I don't think it's necessary to shower every day, because I have dry skin. I usually shower every other day, but sometimes I go longer. I don't smell so I don't think it matters. Besides, now that it's winter, I'm even less inclined to take a shower because there's no heat in this apartment. At least there is plenty of hot water. This isn't a China thing, you know. There are many countries where showering every day is not common.
Yeah I'm not Chinese enough to go without a shower.
I never shower the morning......the wake-up is too brutal for me.
Since I have to shower every day my little child, I shower together with him.....
I have oily skin so I must wash often. My face does not sweat. I shower every morning to help me wake up. I am so not a morning person. I could kill you and get off because my defense would envolve my morning attitude.
I never have encountered heat and humidity like in southern China. I had to shower 4 or 5 times a day.
First thing in the morinig while the coffe is getting ready and last thing at night before bed. But I grew up in the tropics but at 43 old habbits are hard to break.
I shower atleast 2 times a day. (mornings and evenings) some days i even shower 4/5 times a day but this depends on the sex.
since coming here i shower every other day except in the summer. if i'm having sex often, daily.
jnus is right (it is thoughtr in america) europeans dont shower often whenever i ran into some french people in new york they smelled a bit ripe.
In the winter I shower once a day, but in the summer 2-3 times.
If I could just convince the gf that daily showers are good I would be happy...but it's like beating a dead horse sometimes.
I have a shower every morning year round. If it has been hot I normally take one in the evening as well. Just turn on the hot water heater in the small bathroom and use the hand held.
Me , everyday. There is nothing odd about that especially with the environment. Sometimes twice a day, depends how grimey i feel from riding the subway, touching money etc etc.
To those laowai who think it's unnecessary to shower everyday, consider this the dirt and grime sticks to you here and you bring that to the bed every night after a little while it builds up. Think about every person who sat in the taxi seat before you(do those people shower everyday?)

cannot be more agree with you. Personally I believe it is a must to shower twice a day, even my gf is doing this without that i have to say something. It is simply normal to do, after all we are not living in 1945 anymore and everyone has hot water. Aint we?
Same thing as changing underwear everyday, Or do you want that the doctor find some stains in it when you have to go to the hospital suddenly?
before when we had to go to the bath house every second day.
now we have hot water at home daily.
and thats how the fight started
Wow, I got a ton of thumbs down for saying I don't shower every day? It's not illegal, and it's healthier for my skin and hair. It really isn't necessary every day. I don't sweat in the winter, why should I take a shower every day? Do some research. Taking a shower every day is a pretty recent thing. People survived without it. Obviously if a person smells, they should shower, but otherwise...how would you know unless I told you? You wouldn't.

How would you know you didn't smell unless someone told you ?

Hey, nobody's avoiding me.I shave my armpits. I use deodorant. I wear shirts only once before washing them, jeans a few times before washing them. I'm not dating anyone, so who cares? Just because a person doesn't smell like daises doesn't mean that person smells. There are people who take a shower every day, and they smell despite all efforts. Diet can play a huge role in body odor. I think everybody here is a little paranoid, but I guess that's just me.
