@Ironman: I have a wife and a child. Don't make comments about people you don't know; you'll end up looking daft (like I just did).

The Q visa is different in a lot of cities, Read Rob's old posts, he showed us how to get a Q visa during a difficult time.

Great man, it's good to hear that you got it and with two years. I hope others can understand that they can learn that someone was successful with the new Q visa and thus know they too can be successful to when trying to stay with their family in China.  Your story does help others.. Thanks for giving all of us the step by step story, it's nice to know we don't have to leave China.

that is indeed a good thought Ironman..

but it would have been better if OP had posted in his previous threads because new comers like me don't know his story and what he has been through..

I just read his other posts now after your comment..

That's pretty sweet, I didn't know you could get a two year RP.

The longer your marriage + a baby = longer visa's in "some" cities, but not all.

I hear a lot of mention of a "walk through" and a story for getting a Q visa, but it's obviously not in this topic. Links, please!

Just read his story then comments, it'll give you the basic ideas of how the Q visa works. I thought we all had to leave China for a Q visa, but I was wrong. I learned from Rob that in Shenzhen we can just walk into the PSB and not waste time in HK or going home.
