If you don't know what I mean google it. The ones I enjoyed were wafery and had coconut filling and rice cake on the bottom - lush!
I'm in Beijing by the way.
You mean 'macaron'? In Beijing? French restaurant 'The Fig Tree':

For more macarons in Beijing google 'macaron restaurant in Beijing'.
OwainLW:
Heh, not quite. Apparently macarons and macaroons are different things.

I'm after the first one!

I wasn't aware of English word 'macaroon', derived from Italian 'macaroni' or 'noodels' in English.

Hmm, I know in the Shanghai bakeries they have macaroons and cream puffs. Soo good. Can't remember the name of the bakery chain.
Just found this:
Metro has them.
Although in China, macarons are much more expensive than back home.
Chinese bakeries have so many good looking things that disappoint, I don't even bother except for some things I know I like, custard tarts. I've seem things with coconut on them, afraid to try. I bought a coconut cupcake and it was soaked in oil, wtf? But no macaroons.
