Q: if I want others to trust me, how do I do it?

On the internet, people naturally don't trust each other. Is everyone dishonest?

This is normal. Would you feel comfortable talking to a complete stranger in a mask on a bus who's asking you imtimate questions? Probably not. In the cyber world, it's even harder to trust people because anyone can make up a fake identity or personality. Everyone changes their personality online, whether consciously or subconsciously. Communicating in a virtual network is not natural and goes against the basic instincts of mankind (if we have any left, that is), so don't waste your time getting to know phonies online, and go out and meet real people instead.

Why would anyone want to respond to someone who insists on being anonymous?

as you have said the website is a virtual world, peope are afraid to be cheated in this unfamilar environment, thus people don't trust each other, even in the real life, people try to protect themselves by not trusting the strangers.
