I think you will find "world" war would involve China too. It would then depend on which side China was on. If they were friendly with my country then I would stay. If not it would be wise for me and my family to leave for safer shores. The Chinese people are xenophobic enough now, there would be mobs before bombs are even dropped.

expatlife26:

Yeah a few years ago there was an argument with japan over a couple of islands and there were riots over it.

easter island is the most remote location on earth from other countries, distance from armies, pollution, missiles, other people, etc. not sure it would really be any better though.

ScotsAlan:

I thought Pitcairn/ Henderson Islands had that record.

your right scots alan, but no one can live there henderson island, the pitcairn want let you immigrate there not enough fresh water, so the most remote inhabited island is easter island for immigration, i think the bloody lymies made it a liberal nature off limits to man kind of place for henderson, so heathens like me would not corrupt its natural beauty by defacating and urinating on the beautiful pristine flowers and eating all the endangered fish with proper chips to go with the meal. probably would have to make my own beer too, actually been to easter island 3 times, its a great place to get away from modern life with out giving up modern life. strange fact about pitcairn is the local culture has problems with men fornicating with young underage girls, bad scandal there were about a third of the males on the island were put in prison about a decade ago.

I can't see it happening, but if it did I'd probably just stay and go down shooting.

I don't have much to live for anyway. I would go home ASAP, grab my gear, and head to the major conflict zone. .

WWIII - I don't think it would make much different where you were.

However, I think your Q more relates to just any war with few countries in it... Take Syria for example (as it's happening right now) or Yemen (which no-one ever hears about... because there's way too much politics going on). If your country was invaded, would you stay (or return) to fight, or would you be elsewhere (eg, as a refugee).

For me, it might depend on who's invading .. but I'd probably head home and fight (although, getting there would be an issue!) And, the army wouldn't take me Tongue but, that never stopped a militia.

But, I do understand why people (including able-bodied males..!!) would not want to be there.. especially if it is a situation like Yemen or Syria - too many sides, most of whom aren't yours. Especially when it hast nothing to do with you - because in the end, it's still going to be someone in power who will just control you and put you down.

deeper underground

ScotsAlan:

Yup.

Most underground car parks here seem to have blast doors. Seems a great idea. But I wonder how strong the roofs are? Could they support 22 stories of rubble? And, if the apartment was bombed, how to get out of the car park. Surely the rubble would block the doors.

Why seek aslyum? As soon as someone launches a nuclear missle the animal kindom, which includes the human race, will become extinct within 30 days. Only the bugs will survive longer because they will feed on the animal and human carcasses. They might even die due to the radiation dossages, if not, the extreme changes in the weather patterns.
