Just curious how many of you have taught in other Asian countries?
If you could teach somewhere else where would you like to go?
Why haven't you moved yet?
Or why did you leave your previous country for here?
I taught In Korea before and although Japan's interest in English has dwindled down some for adults I would still like to go there and teach. I have visited Japan before for travel and I thought it was a really exciting place. It would seem like a really fun place to live/work and teach there. Also, one of the teachers in Japan who made the website Genki.english.com is one of the reasons I'm still teaching. I got material off of his site and saw how motivated and enthused he was in teaching and that kind of pumped me up some!
I taught in Vietnam, loved it.... then went to Europe for a year and went to China.... then back to Vietnam.
I much preferred Vietnam, for a number of reasons that I've laid out on this site before, but to survive there you have to be able to survive in extreme humidity and not everyone can.
I only have experience in China. I would teach in Thailand in a heartbeat, but it seems they don't hire subject teachers. I left home because I wanted to see a different place.
MissA:
What are your qualifications? They do have some subject teachers, but only in the international schools.
Those schools are typically the ones that offer the best deals anyway, but unless you really luck in, you do need to bring serious credentials to the table - the equivalent to applying back home.

Qualifications? Business and law degree, two years teaching taxes, 2 teaching English and one year teaching business subjects. In a year or two I could teach upper level math classes. I'm in the process of retaking various classes because grad schools require that for course work over ten years old. (Insert "Gosh I'm old" joke here.)
I imagine I'm not qualified but I'm patient.
MissA:
Yeah, you could get a great job in Thailand, but probably not as a subject teacher, your CV seems more tailored for corporate training and such.
I recently got back from a trip to South Korea and loved the place. Wouldn't mind spending a year there.
I would like to teach in Mongolia, but it'll be several more years before it has a chance of being a nice place by Western standards. The countryside is still too rural for cushy expat living, and the cities are definitely going the Chinese route of "ignore pollution until it's too late". Someday...
