U: '.....be removed from the police directory now, when I have new book?

Police officer: 'Yeah, sure! We'll just add notes: ' your name, visa overstay' has new passport!'

Police reports and passports don't go hand-in-hand. Fingerprints do. And you can't erase those.

Your passport number may change with the new passport, but your police record will still be on file with Interpol, the FBI or whatever crime-fighting mafia rules your country.

Yes, if you're an American it will because your passport number changes, their are many people with the same name.

Believe or not this is very common, so to go about this the safe way, get your new passport and go to Hong Kong, have Forever Bright apply for a visa for you and try it...

How will you 'avoid' Chinese records attached to your name?

no Because there are thousands of people that travel in and out of China with the same name, again read my reply slowly... ONLY countries that have a passport number that change when renewing their passport can pull off this trick, I've seen it many times in Shenzhen and doing a visa run to Hong Kong...

I assume, Chinese records carry one's name with the birth date, (pic?) and violation. Are you saying, Chinese cannot differentiate between two (same) names and different birth dates attached?

chinese use paper records and xp software, they cant track anything very well, if they actually went into the 21 st century, they could do background checks themselves instead of everybody bringing a copy to the psb.

hell the banks make you move your money within the same bank if you change cities,

@icnif77, again everything is done by a passport number. So the birth date and picture are useless.

Haven't you seen all the facial recognition cameras? Do you know how they connect?

There's a database that is accessible by every major airport in China on a national level. You have to go through the facial-recognition process whether you're entering or exiting China.

They'll tie you to the previous passport when you enter the country, and presume you're either a spy, that criminal, or whatever else they want to come up with. Your police reports will still be attached to that previous passport, and they'll link it through their actually-very-good facial recognition database.

If you did anything arrest-worthy, you'll be either deported or, most likely, carted off to jail to serve time. There's no way out now. Unless you're black. Tread carefully.

ambivalentmace:

you are assuming the cameras actually work and they dont turn them off to save money, half the scanners at train stations and airports really dont work in china, just for show (face), hell half the nuclear weapons in their tunnel system are fake ones just to be seen by satellites, this is china, nothing is really what it appears. appear weak when you are strong, appear strong when you are very weak, they live by this rule. they cant even catch their worse criminals sometimes for over a decade.

hahaha facial-recognition? Thanks for the good laugh Hulk. Yes yes lots of cameras but NO, they won't do this unless you step into a police station.

You guys are seriously kidding yourselves if you don't realize what's going on in airports now. Whenever you leave or enter China, they record your face. Facial recognition is actually really, really good now.

I'm not talking about train stations, etc. I'm talking when you enter the country or try to leave, they WILL get you.

Your record will still be in their system, so my advice is try to avoid to make the same mistake again to make yourself no bad record.

I shot the sheriff
But I didn't shoot no deputy, oh no! Oh!
I shot the sheriff
But I didn't shoot no deputy, ooh, ooh, oo-ooh.
Yeah! All around in my home town,
They're tryin' to track me down;
They say they want to bring me in guilty
For the killing of a deputy,
For the life of a deputy.
But I say:

Oh, now, now. Oh!
I shot the sheriff. But I swear it was in self-defence.
Oh, no! Ooh, ooh, oo-oh, Yeah!
I say: I shot the sheriff - Oh, Lord!

And they say it is a capital offence.
Yeah! , Ooh, ooh, oo-oh, Yeah!

Sheriff John Brown always hated me,
For what, I don't know:
Every time I plant a seed,
He said kill it before it grow -
He said kill me before I grow.

Just because your passport gets a new number and most of China fails to understand this is possible, doesn't mean the Chinese Embassy in your home country is not able to decipher the relationship between your old passport number and your new number, as part of the visa application process. E.g. my passport also have a social security ID number which is unique within my country and cannot be changed.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
