Q: If you were a sick, twisted S.O.B., how would you fix...
We all know about the four-two-one problem and the gender-imbalance, right? What new policies would you recommend to remedy the predicament if you were a vile and callous monster who secretly cared nothing about your people's wellbeing but cared a lot about being seen by them as benevolent and wise? How would you implement your solution without anyone questioning your ethics?
EDIT: The four-two-one problem is a consequence of the O.C.O. policy which results in one child being forced to care for his or her two parents and four grandparents.
Euthenasia for anyone over the age of 50.

Not only is this almost a certainty (within decades) euthenasia will apply to the entire human species, the species on this planet that is so 'smart and superior' that on a collective level never asks the question --- what is the safe carrying capacity for our species of this planet? You can safely bet that it is not 7 billion. Far, far from it.....wanna guess (hint: downward)? It is just that China is the worst with its newly acquired wealth, face myopia, selfishness, ruthlessness and ignorance.

This planet can quite easily accommodate many more than we have now... but we do need to change the way we do things!
WE clearly have enough resources and food...(but this needs drastic changing) air is not a problem, nor is water. We've got the room for housing, and we have the people to look after everything.
Once we've sorted out energy (ie, renewables) we'll be fine.
It might not be Utopia, but it can be done. Just as it is now.

I agree with Shining_brow, but I would like to add that the current hierarchical management of the planet needs to be restructured/adjusted/etc. Too few control/own/possess WAY WAY TOO MUCH. To a point that their global social engineering projects, massive profits, rules/laws, etc. only benefit them.

Look at the population of naturally grown food supply, from fishes in the ocean to trees, any experienced farmer or fisherman can confirm with you their dwindling population, and size too. Not enough to eat, pollution..... Half-joking, any polar bear can tell you what life is like (for them) has become. This all happened within the last five decades.
Air ---- depends on what quality of air you are talking about. The drastic reduction of tree population and increase of human population (both a product of the human species' "advancement") has created oxygen deprivation on a global scale already. Logic tells us that the quality of air (and quantity of oxygen) of 2015 is worse than 1915, a mere century ago. Relatively speaking the whole earth is in a state of oxygen deprivation.
Water ---- glaciers (including the icecaps, N/S poles) are melting at double the rate a mere decade ago. Scientifically proven (2014 I believe, I read the article) by two independent research teams the melting of N/S pole icecaps have gone beyond recovery point. (NASA immediately called them up, that's how serious it was).
If you like to ski ask the Swiss what is happening to their beautiful slopes (I can testify that the lyrics for the Edelweiss song was no exaggeration), let them show you the comparative photos. Don't want to go that far? Ask the Tibetans, same answer. Even ten years ago when I was there, and also the high mountains in Sichuan region, sitting for hours in the middle of glaciers (because I knew they probably wouldn't be there for my second visit) the locals told me how they had retreated at alarming rate. Truly "now you see it, now you don't". Guess where rivers (water) like the Yellow River or Yangtse Jiang originate? Even CCP is digging a tunnel toward Nepal, the Himalayan country, a country with plenty of glaciers. What do you think chinese mainlanders are eyeing, ivory? Nope, that's Thailand.
The late Aussie Professor Frank Fenner, the eminent microbiologist who was responsible for the discovery of vaccine for smallpox thus riding it from mankind once and for all, said this crystal clear , "it is the greed and ruthless consumption of the human species that would end this species". He predicted that happening within 100 years, dating from 2010, the year he died. He also said it was too late. Lo and behold, two independent research teams (abovementioned) scientifically proved the N/S icecaps had gone beyond recovery point a mere couple of years later. This is one scientist who probably has a fairly good understanding of what the human species is really about!

What is the fastest way to gain phenomenal return on investment, the game they are obsessed with ( "we're merely being responsible to our shareholders....." The winners among the super rich are those who manage to unearth undervalued properties (primarily shopping malls and office buildings, globally), snatch them up, do some touch ups here and there, and resell.

@wolf....... LOL. I am neither a christian nor buddhist, nor yangist for that matter. Framing people is the mark of very lowly evolved beings. These sad beings live in darkness and abhor the light as the contrast is too much for them.
Sarcasm and mockery are little more than symptoms of the nasty ego, one that for some weird reasons decides passive aggressiveness and camouflaged attacks denote intelligence. The truth is, these lowly eolved tactics are used by many slaves in the past who for obvious reasons dared not, or could not because of inferior mental acumen, challenge their masters. A truly sad state of existence running on a twisted psyche. Humor, on the other hand is a completely different story.
Although I am neither a christian nor buddhist, I have no problem with some of the teachings recorded by their scriptures.

I assume this refers to the Air China Flight from Beijing to Tokyo which is shcedule to depart in approximately 42 hours.
I would probably make sure the incoming flight was diverted to Siberia to make sure there would be no problems for the misbehaving Chinese flyers. No flight, no problem.
Anyway. The problems with misbehaving air passengers is likely to fix itself. As the outcome of the one child policy is a group of people, in the current young generation, who have been so over poured with love by the magnificent Chinese parents that they are bound to behave perfectly while on flights. Also, as the population is bound to drop once all the old people are in the ground (or on) then the overall level of arseholery should level out if not drop.
In order to fix the problem of an ageing population we need to invest more in healthcare! Who better to learn from than America? Let's bring US-style healthcare to China.
We'll import all American healthcare equipment and pay doctors in China US salaries. But of course you then also get US prices so everyone in China gets an Obamacare Bronze plan at a cost of 5,000 dollars per year with a 5,000 dollar deductible. That's dollars, not rmb.
But instead of importing US medical equipment we'll just keep most of the same crap we have now and import a few machines for face. We'll keep the same doctors we have now but bring in a couple whiteys to make the system look more international. Or we'll just dress up a few English teachers in uniforms and take pictures of them. We'll need to invest in expensive cameras to take pictures of the "doctors" and medical equipment.
There you have it. US healthcare with Chinese characteristics. It should take care of that ageing population problem. No one will be able to afford it and the quality will still be shit. But we'll look compassionate for imitating America on the surface.
Financial incentives for having girls might help with the gender imbalance but wouldn't solve the population problem the entire planet faces. I believe colonisation of another planet is the only hope for humanity.

Actually, I see China following Thailand's model - females are valued so much that parents arrange for marriage of their son to a female at her birth.
The desire for money will overcome the need for a son.

That and education.
After all, everyone is scared of automation. The luddites smashed the early textile machines for fear of losing their jobs. But as automation is embraced, we need less manual workers and more educated workers. Skilled workers who run the automation earn more, pay higher taxes, and the "Shortage of workers to pay the pensions" fear mongering vanishes into the ether.
What is it to be? Not enough workers or too few jobs because of automation?
