Q: Illegal download frowned upon in China?

I met this guy who would offer me to buy those fake movie DVDs, telling me the quality is "very very good". It was akward because most of these movies were still in theatre... I'm kinda sure what he does is illegal, but is there any risks for a foreigner buying those DVDs?

I didn't say i bought anything. We all agree that illegal download is... illegal, but in some country, the authorities are moar lenient than in others. I was wondering what's China's stance on it, as being a foreigner i haz no clue.

And Sammah, let's get real, expat and foreigners have it easier than Chinese people. Get real!
