Q: 'Imagine' good game bro, good game....

"Imagine" lyricsJohn Lennon Lyrics

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today... Aha-ah...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace... You...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world... You...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I always liked that song. Have you seen Forest Gump, where Lennon is talking to Forest about China and Forest inadvertently gives him the lyrics to Imagine?

I'm too lazy to google it, did they ever find out why the dude killed him?

Was a damn shame, the man was a talented musician.

icnif77:

It was 'solved' as perp is mentally ill or something similar. Cause of death wasn't really important considering Lennon's greatness.

huh,,, u are making me wanna go watch Forrest Gump again... haven't seen in ages, and don't exactly recall what u mentioned,,, so I wanna watch it again.  From all my memories a damn fine film.

yeah, who knows what went thru that guys head,,,,,  weird thing to wanna go up and blast someone out of the blue.  Simple answer is he is a 'nutcase',, but what does that really mean?  again,,, who knows?  Oh well,,, he did it, and that's that.  RIP John.

Stiggs:

"There is a great scene in the movie Forrest Gump when our hero meets John Lennon. Forrest is invited to appear on The Dick Cavett show to discuss his recent trip to trip to China. John Lennon is the other guest and Forrest sits in the middle of the two men. The host Cavett asks Forrest, “Can you, uh, tell us, uh what was China like?” Forrest replies, “Well, in the land of China, people hardly got nothing at all.” Lennon interrupts, “No Possessions?”  Forrest continues, “And in China, they never go to church.” Lennon: “No religion, too?” Cavett: “Oh. Hard to Imagine.” Lennon: “Well, it’s easy if you try, Dick.” Of course most of us recognize these as famous lines from John Lennon’s hit song Imagine. The inference of course is that Forrest’s serendipitous meeting with John Lennon led to the song’s lyrics."

I watched flick yesterday ...

" ... inadvertently gave him lyrics for Imagine ...?"

Song was released in 1970-tis or so ... and Forest Gump was filmed a bit ... some 20 years later. That was movie inference, not real happening.

Yes Icnif I know that.

I wasn't suggesting the movie was a documentary or anything other than some clever fiction.
