Q: Imported wine validity?
So I am sure most of you are familiar with Metro supermarket, great place. Love the wine selection. Real cheap imported wines. Now I have also tasted Chinese red wine, pale red, almost light pink with horrible taste. Recently I bought a bottle of imported wine from Australia called Fox Valley Red Wine. English on the front of the label with the back all in Chinese. I searched the internet for this brand name from Australia, however I couldn't find it. So I am wondering what do you guys think of these wines? Especially from Metro cause that is where I make most of my purchases are these real? Can be trusted?
I heard the other day that 70% of the French wine sold in China is fake. Don't have a source on that though, but I would guess there is a lot of Great Wall going into bottles with different labels so the price can go up.
I know Metro is a international chain. In China it doesn't mean the store manager doesn't allow his uncles fake wine to be sold.
