Q: The increase in non-native teachers?
Been reading the posts and obviously this comes up alot, so hate on da hater but want some expert opinions if ye'all don't mind.
Recently on wechat and even other social networks most and if not all ads for English teachers require the person to be NON native. Last year or year before they changed the rules so that ONLY natives with the required credentials can be given the right to be an English teacher in China.
The thing is, before this, schools ALREADY was hiring native teachers right? So why now is it that I never see any ads for natives? What has happened here? Is this also the same for most Asian countries? Anyone shed light on this debacle?

Stricter visa rules means that employers are having a hard time finding native speakers who also qualify for the visa requirements (college degree + 2 years ESL experience) so they recruit non-natives instead, often Russians, who are willing to take the risk of teaching on the wrong visa. It's that simple really.
China will have 300 million English language students by year 2020 ... There aren't enough Native English teachers in the whole world to satisfy that demand.
I am Non myself, and I was invited for an interview with School in Turkey last week, despite they were aware of my Non-nativity. Their job advert I applied to, was 'lightning': 'Native English Teacher ...'
School offers decent pay with benes and legal working status, but they are unable to get suitable Native English teacher for several months.

If you look at Dave's ESL, Turkish Board and vacancies are per subscription/pay, only!
US$ 1200/m for 24 classes/week with shared apartment (private room&rest shared). Legal WP.
I am not sure do they offer 'return flight', but they'll escort you at arrival to Istanbul Airport.

Otherwise, Istanbul and residing Turks look very EU with matching consumer prices. No 'Allan's-Snack-Bar' yelling through the speakers ...

i am having hard time to find job here all jobs are available for native speakers and must have 2 years experience. I am non-native speaker. Sadly, i wlll go back to my country without grabbing opportunity.
