Q: Inexpensive agent to register a WFOE in SZ

Hi,

Is there anyone here who happens to know an inexpensive agent who can help me to register a WFOE?

Please let me know how much it cost you in agent fees and government fees.

Thanks,
Zoom

Try the classified section of ShenzhenParty website or doing a standard search on LinkedIn. You can easily find out the government fees from the website of the local government around Bao'an District. The agent will tell you what his/her fees are when you contact one.

Kaiwen:

Just enter "cost of setting up a WFOE (or WOFE) in China" into Google and you will find endless stuff to be going on. I have just looked so I know that's the case.

I have now talked to an agent about registering a WFOE. They are telling me that it will take at least 5 month before I will be able to start to operate. I'm willing to do it but I have to deliver the machines before end of this year and it vill take aprox 4 month to make them.

So I have to find another solution quickly. As some knowledge guy mentioned earlier I could open a branch office of my HK based company who then supervise my friends company's manufacturing of our machines as our HKD company is their customer.

Will a branch office be able to receive money from abroad? I think so, but are they allowed to make payments to suppliers in China for equipment ordered from the mother company in HK?

Kaiwen:

I would recheck that information the agent gave you with the government local investment bureau because, unless the delay is getting the safety certification, I cannot see any reason for it taking that long. Within a month seems reasonable to me. It certainly does not take that long to get the business licence.

Kaiwen:
Ok, i will visit them. I found this place www.wfoe.com Is this the place you refer to?

Kaiwen:

No, you need to contact the Inward Investment Bureau at Shenzhen Bao'an government. Go directly to them first because all agents are parasites and will look for an opportunity to exploit you. If you are serious about setting up a business in China, I would strongly recommend that you rethink until you have done plenty of research and fully understand what you are letting yourself in for. China is one of the most ruthless environments on earth for doing business. If you rush into this thing and display the same level of knowledge you seem to have at the moment, I promise you there are people here that will rip your buttocks off. I am not joking!

I replied little too fast without reading through the website thoroughly. I will surely contact the authority you refer to.

I have been self employed 25 of my 44 years, the last 10 years in an even more ruthless and foreign hostile country, namely Thailand.

I have done all my businesses here in China for 7 years through my Chinese parteners without any problems so far. I have for long time thought about eventually open up my own enterprise here, and now may be a good time. But you are absolutely right, I need more knowledge and that is why I'm asking all kinds of questions here.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
