Q: Invoice from China with, 15% tax?????
We, a HK-company got an invoice from a Chinese supplier for parts custom made for us. The invoice, a MS-Word doc, had a 15% tax added to it. We are assembling the parts in China with help of another company for later export. What kind of tax is it? An overseas company shouldn't be charge for VAT right? Or am i wrong?

No, You should not be asked to pay the Tax in this conditions. never
They mentioned that i will get and official invoice (fapiao) when thay have received the money. Also that i will get it back (almost, 10-12%) when we eventually export the equipment.
How does that sound?
GuilinRaf:
Sounds very fishy to me. What guarantee do you have that they will pay it back?
Nessquick:
They get it back, from govt as they subsidize this, but you will not get it back from them. If you pay, they just get the tax 2times and are happy, how they fool another foreigner and let's go for KTV tonight.

Of course they will. Unless they forget. 'Tax' in this context may mean "sucker fee". Just my 2 pence.
You guys seems not to have much faith in Chinese business people. Why would they promise me it back then. If failing, they would lose a customer which is worth 100 times more than this tax.... I might be wrong though....
bill8899:
No no no. You don't understand. They're not like you. Hell, they're not even like me.
