Q: Isn't it sad that China has Saxy Santas for a month, but no Buddhas for his birthday?

Why don't they make a "traditional shopping event" out of Buddhas birthday? Today I saw nothing at all regarding this anniversary, wouldn't have known it by looking at the streets.

What would you call a  holiday celebrating Buddha?

ScotsAlan:

I found this, but it seems to be an advert for Buddhist holidays:

Ah wait. A Buddhist holiday is called a Retreat wink.

No offense to the big man of course.  Hope he has a good birthday.

Seriously, I respect all religions, and I have prayed at Buddhist temples many times.
