Over the past 3 months I have watched all of Netflix and several other providers entire store. I'm not alone.
There is a new zombie movie that has just been released. CORONA Zombies. Classic B grade exploitation movie. Funny.
TV: Strike Back, Justified, The Following have been a few of the standout TV series.
Do you have any recommendations before I reach the end of the Internet?
3 years 49 weeks ago in Arts & Entertainment - China
I don't watch much TV but have been binging a bit on a couple of my favourite classics.
Trailer Park Boys - you might have heard of that. And Father Ted which is an older comedy from the UK that was really popular here in NZ years ago.
I started watching the Walking Dead again but couldn't get into it this time around, too dark considering the times we're in at the moment.
Stiggs:
A series I got hooked on when I was in China was The Wire, a cop show.
sorrel:
i am taking the opportunity to catch up on Breaking Bad - which i had saved as an emergency back-up.
Sandnose:
I'm not a big fan of breaking bad. For me, there are too many long relationship or introspective scenes. I would have liked it more if it was only 2 seasons long with bang, bang bang scenes. Clearly I'm too shallow for the emotional discourse that tended to take over the last one or two seasons.
Khatia Buniatishvilli: Das Waldkonzert , ... French Georgian pianist ... very intense lassie ...
... not over Netflix, but over FrostWire, free p2p d/l.
I am using FW since ever ... (2002 with my first Mac G4 ..) and whole FW Library (some 150 flicks, 35 books/audiobooks & over 55h of music ...) stored on remote HD was d/l entirely free of charge.
Did I tell you, am from Free-Internet-Movemento ...

Drama / Crime
The Killing (Danish)
The Bridge (Denmark / Sweden co-production)
Wallander (Swedish)
Comedy
Fr Ted - see Stiggs
Black Books
Brooklyn 99 - silly but fun
i am on retro comedies like *Yes Minister / Prime Mininster" - gentle but sharp
The Fast Show
Kath and Kim
Would recommend silent comedies such as Buster Keaton and Laurel and Hardy.
i know these are not TV shows, but they are amusing, and in the case of Buster Keaton, inventive with impressive stunts
enjoy

What about Del & Rodney? ... and Granddad ...
Del: "What a plonker ... you are, Rodney."
That's the only series I can take ... otherwise, teli comes worst than the washing machine's ... 90* cycle .
icnif77:
I had to d/l one part as soon as I read this thread. There is not much of 'Only Fools ...' on FW ...
I have 10 of them. One title is 'The Long Legs of Law', and ... 'Diamonds are for Heather' ...
That's redo of famous James Bond title 'Diamonds are Forever' .. Sean Connery ...
... the title alone made me laugh even before I watch.
Stiggs:
Check youtube, you'll find lots of fools and horses there.
I just had a quick look there now and there's a channel called Dr. Jame who has the first 7 seasons uploaded.
icnif77:
I rarely look at u-Tube, but yeah it must be loads there.
I prefer to d/l and keep good ones on HD. Why do I do that way?
... 'cause, one can always pass out during the watch ... and then watch it again the missing parts or whole thing.
If you watch it over the teli or Netflix you must watch all the time unless you want to pay (Netflix) again, and if you pass out during the teli ... 'game is over'.
D/l on HD really makes me enjoy and ... sleep in the same time.
icnif77:
Del: "Rodney's goin' out with the police woman ..."
Grandad: " ... what the neighbours're gonna say ...?"
Long Legs of Law ...
Grandad: "Rodney was caught smoking 'ma-ri-dzu-a-na' ... You brought a slur upon the family name."
Rodney: "I had to get down on chicken molesting to bring a slur upon this family."
Rodney brought a date home ... for a night cap ... he he ... and Del and Gran think they're getting raided by cops ...
icnif77:
Was watching a dialog between them ... When Rodney was little, their mom died, so Del was the older brother and took care of the young one ..
One day, Rodney came home crying 'because one of his little friends had some toy ... and Rodney wanted one, too. .. Del was broke and ... brought him the toy home the same evening and Rodney:
"The toy was the same as my friend had ..."
Grandad: "Del always took good care of you, Rodney!"
Rodney: " ... except ... my friend's dad was really upset when he saw I have his son's stollen toy ...,"
'cause Del went and stole toy from Rodney's friend and gave it to Rodney as a present.
The dialogs at "Only Fools ..." are great and there are too many of them. I mean, it goes too quick to 'digest' all of them at once. I am keep rewinding ...
Rodney gave his date (police woman) hand watch as present ... cops had bulletin outside about the disappeared truck full of watches ...
Del: 'You gave stolen watch to a police woman ... ??? ... What a plonker you are, Rodney!" ...
Stiggs:
Lol wasn't that the episode where Del went to offer her (the police woman) a drink, the bottle was empty so Rodney reminded Del that they had boxes of liquor (that was illegal somehow) stashed in the living room?
icnif77:
It wasn't illegal to keep loads of alcohol at home. These boxes were from missing, stollen truck full of liquor ... and cops were looking for it ..
Del was finally able to wrap boxes of booze with the curtain.
Del's talking to a Rodney's date ...:
"Rodney once tried to join a police force, but he failed intelligence test. He became Unigate milkman afterwards."
Stiggs:
Rodney: Trig, why do you call me Dave? my name's Rodney.
Trigger: I thought it was Dave.
Rodney: Well it's not dave, it's Rodney.
Trigger: Are you sure?
icnif77:
They speak this with the deadly serious faces ... I was thinking, if I would be an actor, I couldn't do the funny line without laugh. How they can be serious while speaking funny lines?
I think, that's acting ... " ... talking funny and not laugh .."
Stiggs:
Yeah, that would take some practice alright.
I'm the same, there's no way I could do that with a straight face. I can't even get a passport photo taken without multiple attempts because as soon as the photographer tells me - straight face, no smiling - I can't help myself. I think that's why my last passport photo looks like I'm trying to hold a fart in or something.
icnif77:
Have a look at Ashes to Ashes ... I thought, am having a heart attack last night. Trotters and Trigger ...
icnif77:
'Cash & Curry' ... is the next title ...
"... but, don't tell anybody ..." in pajee draft
Del and Roderz experienced 'Catch22' while dealing with two Indians .., so, Del comments:
"It's an egg&bacon situation all over again ..., isn't it?"
Roderz ... patronizing ...: "Egg & chicken, Del ..."
LOLOL ...
Bottom - more classic adult themed comedy from the UK.
Sandnose:
Bottom is excellent but I need to explain everything to my wife. The Mighty Bush was a good one too, but she didn't understand a lot of it.
just load up on tv shows at 1337x.to, great torrents,

My go to sites are ettv and tottent galaxy. I cheery pick every day.
Justified.... totally rocks. Walton Goggins is my favourite actor but I didn't know his name until I watched the credits closely. He's played so many excellent supporting roles in film and TV but I never knew his name until today.

Watching "Devs" now. Interesting but I'll reserve judgement for now. I'm not sure if it can sustain the ambience. Hannibal sustained the ambience in spades.
If anyone is interested, this is what I did this over the last couple of weeks between a hectic schedule of cooking, sleeping and tv: https://b23.tv/BV12C4y1p75k

icnif77:
We're all waiting for report on Del&Co. ...
I d/l series 1 - 5 with 6 episodes on each ...
'A Slow Bus to Chingford'; 'Yesterday Never Comes'; 'From Prusia with Love'; 'Tea for Three' ...
Sandnose:
Between sleeping and eating it's been hectic. Phew! I did screenshot the names. Next time the missus heads out for rations I'll get on it. I hope it's not Del & Co(Rona virus). Watching a fat dude on a ventilator for 6 hours might be tough viewing. Although when I was younger and stupider I did watch the Andy warhol film of a dude sleeping for 8 hours. Gripping stuff ????
icnif77:
'Co.' stands for Company. What's the matter with you?
Del, Roderz and Grandad ...
Tell me, did you disinfect the keyboard before you replied?
One must be detailed with this virus. You never know where the bastard can sneak upon you ... You should also clean the webcam ... often ... LOLOLO
I speak like a real MD ... already. They brain my wash ... in lock-down.
Sandnose:
Icniff77 for General Secretary of WHO!!
You seem much more knowledgeable than the clown running that shitshow at the moment.
icnif77:
"Stay far away from hospitals and MDs overall ..." is my good wishing message ...
That's why I am rarely home. I can't stand too many MDs on smaller m2-age.
icnif77:
Hospitals are places where people get sick ... because of all MDs talk and what not ... even if they felt good before seeing MD.
That greeting of mine is very old ... and it isn't connected to all this craze whatsoever. I made it up out of desperation, 'cause I have house full of MDs ...
Disinfect this and ...
"Buzz off, already ... You got to die of something ..." is my answer ...
Sandnose:
I believe in George. Not Wang 2020 George. George Carlin "Germs"

During the whole isolation Netflix is my best thing....it kept me entretained, i joined the account payinng 30rmb and you also need to go over the wall. Using this guide https://www.screenbinge.com/netflix/china/ It has thousands of movies and series the list never ends. Though you frequently need to hump over servers for obvious reasons!
