I have found that sometimes it is cheaper, including the shipping, than at import stores. At other times, when you add the shipping charge, it is more expensive than at import stores.

For example, Dove chocolates sell for about 58 yuan at Taobao for 1 yin, add 15 yuan for shipping, and one yin will cost you 73 yuan. At the local ZWalmart, when they have them, it is 68 yuan per yin.

It depends which city you are in. Theres a great store in Guilin, really cheap. Sky vodka 70 RMB. Cheese... so much cheese.

But generally if you are in a small city with not many expats, I would say taobao is cheaper!

TedDBayer:

What store has cheese that are not slices? Only Nicionicodo sells real butter, the rest sell margarine labelled butter. I bought ''butter'' at Walmart and it also stunk.
